Detailed Lesson Plan in Physical and Health Education

I. Objectives
At the end of the 50-minutes lesson the students should be able to:
a. identify the rules and mechanics of Tug of War;
b. show cooperation and collaboration while playing the game Tug of War; and
c. demonstrate the game Tug of War.

Before you take your sit, please pick
up all the trashes below and put it on
the trash can.

B. Review of the Past Lesson


Before we proceed to our new topic,
let us recall first our lesson yesterday.
What was our topic yesterday, class?

Our topic yesterday was all about Luksong
Baka ma’am.
Very good Rojo!
What is Luksong Baka, Esther?
Luksong Baka is a traditional Filipino game
that originated from Bulacan, it involves the
players jumping over the person called the
“Baka”.
We have a rules in playing Luksong
Baka. Can you please give atleast two
rule of Luksong Baka, Kimberly?
1. At the start of the game there should be one
player that should be called "Taya".
2. The players should avoid contact or falling
over the "Baka" player while jumping over.
Very Good!
How about the rule 3 and 4, Esther?
3. The "Baka" player should start with a bend
and down kneeling position.
4. All players are to jump over the "Baka"
until all the players have jumped. Once the 1st
set of jumping over the "Baka" is done, the
"Baka" player's position will slowly rise and
up after jumping over the "Baka" player.

And the last one, Rojo?
5. Only the hands of the jumper may touch
the back of the person who is bent over. If a
player fails to avoid contact or fall over the
"Baka", he/she will replace the "Baka"
player with a bend-down kneeling position
and the game continues until the all players
decides to end the game.

heard the word tug of war class?

Ma’am when I heard the word tug of war, for
me, it is battle between two people or two
teams.

Tug of war is a type of a game in
which two teams show their strength
by pulling against each other at the
opposite ends of a rope, and each team
tries to pull other over a line on the
ground.

We have a mechanics of a tug of war.


Can you please read them all, 1. Get a long piece of rope.

2. Mark the center of the rope with some red

6. The team members line up behind the white
mark on their side.
7. The referee gives the command “Pick up
the rope”. At this point, the team members
pick up the rope.
8. Next the referee says “Take the string”. The
teams hold the rope taut so the red mark on
the rope is over the center line.
9. Finally the referee says “Pull”. Each team
pulls.
10. The first team to pull the opposing side’s
white mark over the center line wins.
