SOLUTION
2. Let volume of the solution = 1000 ml
Mass of the solution = 1000 × 1.665 = 1665 gm
No. of moles of NaNO3 = Molarity × Vol. (in )
=5×1=5
Let No. of moles of BeCl2 present in the solution = x
Moles of BeCl2
Molality of BeCl2 = Mass of NaNO3 × 1000
{Mass of solution –( + )}
Mass of BeCl2
x
3 = 1665−(5×85+80x) × 1000

x=3
 Molarity of BeCl2 = 3M
MAllions = MNa+ + MNO−3 + MBe+2 + MCl−
= 5 + 5 + 3 + (2 × 3) = 19 M

nurea 1
3. =4
nH2 O

Wurea 60
 = 72
WH2 O

 weight of solution= 132 gm

In 132 gm mole of urea = 1
1
 In 500 gm mole of urea = 132 × 500

Also, In 132 gm, mole of H2O = 4

4
In 500gm, mole of H2O = 132 × 500

Now, on dilution
500
xsolute = 500 4
132
1000 = 0.05
+( ×500+ )
132 132 18

4. 2 moles of solute in 1L of solution.

Mass of solution = 1090 g; mass of solvent = 900 g
2×2×1000 2
Molality of Cl– = = 4.44; Mole fraction MgCl2 = 52 = 0.038
900
190×100 190×106
%w/V = = 19% PPM of MgCl2 = = 17.43 × 104

6. UF6 + H2O ⎯→ Ux Oy Fz + (H5 F95 ) or (HF)

5 19

(a) The empirical formula of gas is HF

 Correct option is (C)

7. UF6 + H2O ⎯→ Ux Oy Fz + (H5 F95 ) or (HF)

5 19

(b) Mass of H2O = 3.88 –3.52 = 0.36 gm

 moles of H2O = 0.2
 UF6 + 2H2O ⎯→ U1O2F2 + 4HF
 Empirical formula of solid is UF2O2
 Correct option is (A)

8. UF6 + H2O ⎯→ Ux Oy Fz + (H5 F95 ) or (HF)

5 19

(c) 1 mole UF6 gives 4 more HF

 % of fluorine converted in gaseous product
114−76
= 100– ( ) × 100 = 66.66 %
114

 Correct option is (C)

9. When H2SO4 solution is shifted to cylindrical vessel, then it occupy 100 cm3,
 BaCl2 solution occupy = 3000 – 1000 = 2000 cm3
Moles of BaCl2 = Molarity × Vol. (in )
= 1 × 2 × 103 × 10–3 = 2 mol.
H2SO4 + BaCl2 ⎯→ BaSO4 + 2HCl
2 mol. 2 mol. Ppt.
All SO2−
4 ions get precipitated

 SO2−
4 ions are not present in the solution. Hence molarity of SO4 = 0.
2−

10. H2SO4 is completely consumed,

 Acid left in cylinder = HCl
2
No. of moles of HCl produce = 2 × 1 = 4 mol.
4 4
Molarity of HCl = 3000 × 1000 = 3 M

11. Cylinder content is transferred to spherical container. In cylinder 4 moles of HCl are present &
volume of solution is 3000 sphere is further filled with HBr.
 1000 ml of HBr solution is added to sphere
100 ml solution contains → 32.4 gm
1000 ml solution will contain → 324 gm
324
Moles of HBr = = 4 mol.
81

Total moles of H+ = (moles from HCl + Moles HBr

=4+4=8
No. of moles of H+
Molarity of H+ in final solution = Vol. of solution × 100
(in ml)
8
= 4000 × 1000 = 2M
