I Logged in 15 min before time & Capt. Wadood arrived on the scene exactly on time. He gave a
brief biography of himself. Afterwards, he inquired about my experience (Tanker). The curriculum
I had been utilising was verified. Upon verifying my identification, he requested to check my room
and make sure the door was shut. He next went through the guidelines for good housekeeping
and described how the exam would operate. Quite sincere and a fair examiner.

1. Asked me do you know what is the Master’s syllabus & M notice?


2. Joining as Master, taking over from beginning including company briefing?
3. After company briefing you are at jetty explain me process till Masters cabin?
4. Now you are in master’s cabin explain takeover process?
5. What’s in the SEA?
6. Where does the SEA come from?
7. Contents of SEA?
8. What statutory certificates you will check?
9. What all crew certificates you will check for all crew?
10. Specific certificate for bridge team?
11. 3rd officer joined and you find he has not done his ECDIS type specific certificate, action?
12. How would maintain safety culture onboard a master?
13. Masters’ responsibility as per ISM?
14. How do you know vessel is under ACS?
15. Which certificates are not covered under ACS & why?
16. Validity of ISM/ISPS/MLC certificates?
17. DOC Validity and survey criteria?
18. 17-year cadet joining what precautions you will take?
19. He put me on a bulk carrier ballast voyage from Europe to USA, what are your
considerations during voyage?

Then he informed me, "That ends your exam." You have been passed. He's unquestionably one of
the best. He'll prompt you when you need it.
