6. Notes / Hints
Some handy devices limit the memory for internal databases, in which your emails are stored. Therefore it is
quite possible to exceed email storage capacity before reaching the actual physical memory limit of your
handy.
If you delete the currently installed version of Sirius, all emails, settings and licence number will be gone, too.
To omit this you can perform an update without previously deleting the old version of Sirius. Once you have
Sirius validated keep the licence number written down somewhere else as well as a backup. If needs arise
(handy broken, stolen, &c.) you can re-validate your licence free of charge via email with this licence
number.
7. FAQ
• WAP works but Sirius cannot establish a connection. What went wrong?
There might be two different reasons:
1. Some mobile service providers work with different gateways for WAP and internet. Since Sirius
requires an internet connection your connection profile should also include the configuration of the
internet access. How to set this up you can read in the manual of your mobile phone and the
information of your provider.
2. On some mobile phones (like the Siemens M50) there are different connection profiles for WAP
browser and MIDlets. Possibly you haven't configured your connection profile for MIDlets yet. How to
set this up you can read in the manual of your mobile phone and the information of your provider.
8
• What happens to my licence when I delete the MIDlet (e.g. a new mobile phone)?
Your Sirius licence does not vanish. You can register your new licence via mail or phone. To activate
your licence again we require the prove of the previous acquisition of your licence. Simply supply the
original and the new licence key.
• How can I tell how many kBytes have already been transferred and received via GPRS?
This depends on the type of mobile phone you own. Some provide the facilities to display the
transferred data (e.g. the Siemens M50 displays the total amount of GPRS within menu\settings\data
exchange\GPRS-info and the Nokia 6310i displays it within menu\calling lists\GPRS counter), some
don't.
