Introduction
The Facial Recognition-Based Attendance System is designed to modernize conventional classroom
attendance procedures. It automatically identifies and records students upon entry, streamlining the
process and alleviating the administrative workload for educators. Utilizing facial recognition
technology, the system offers a seamless and unobtrusive means of verifying student presence.
Furthermore, it seamlessly integrates with existing classroom infrastructure, ensuring user-friendly
operation. This system not only significantly enhances classroom efficiency but also enriches the
overall learning experience for both students and educators.
Feasibility Study
Technical Feasibility
Technical Feasibility is achieved as:
All necessary software (including programming languages and the different libraries to be used)
and the hardware requirements for the project are met.
All user requirements can be met, if they are not already available
Operational Feasibility
Operational Feasibility is achieved as:
Economic feasibility
Academic Project
Minimal to no additional hardware or software cost
System Study
While facial recognition technology has been widely adopted for attendance tracking in various contexts,
such as monitoring employee work hours, its application in tracking student attendance is relatively
underdeveloped. Existing software solutions often lack the specific features required for tracking student
attendance, such as class attendance counts and monthly attendance percentages. The proposed system
aims to streamline attendance tracking, improve accuracy, and provide valuable insights into student
attendance patterns.
Features
Admin login
Displays the number of classes a student has attended
Displays the monthly attendance percentage to the student, upon entering the class
Effortless attendance tracking with minimal contact with the system
Entity Relationship Diagram
Conclusion
The implementation of facial recognition technology for attendance tracking, with the features
mentioned, offers a seamless solution for students to monitor their attendance and faculty members to
efficiently track student presence.
