Reading: We will be reading the play Johnny Appleseed and talking about folk tales. Writing: We will practice adding details to our sentences. We will be starting a writing prompt comparing our lives to Johnnys life. The final copy will be homework due Friday. Math: We will continue practicing adding two-digit numbers regrouping in Chapter 3. Social Studies: We will talk Veterans Day and make card for some men and women in the armed services. There is not school tomorrow November 11th due to Veterans Day. There IS school this upcoming Friday, November 18th. Hooray! MACSs second graders are running a lemonade stand after school next week. Parents are needed after school from 2:00 to 2:30 pm to help students sell lemonade. We will be using this activity to teach business and money skills, and all money raised will go towards holiday baskets. So far we have plenty of baked goods, and weve already raised a good amount of money. Thank you to those of you that have donated time to this project! Although I included paper goods, cups, and plastic ware on our parent sign up for the Thanksgiving Feast, it has come to my attention that a parent has already donated these items for the whole school!
