The pupils will form the puzzle about the magnet with
its corresponding name. Let them post their work on the
board.

Say: Magnets have different types. There are rectangular,


horseshoe, ring and bar magnets.

Direction: Read each sentence carefully. Then, arrange the


jumbled letter forming the synonym of the underlined word.

Directions: Let the pupils sit on the floor and form a circle. Spin the
water bottle and whoever the cap of the bottle faces, he or she will
read the part of the story “The magnet”. Continue spinning the
bottle until the story ends.

The Magnet

Magnetism is an invisible force or field that causes objects to attract


or repel one another. Magnets attract objects made of steel, iron, and other
metals. There are different types of magnets: horseshoe, rectangular, ring
and bar magnets. Each magnet cost is approximately 299 pesos.

The discovery of the magnet and the many things that have been
made out of it have brought many discoveries and useful things. The magnet
makes possible the compass that was used and still being used by travelers,
pilots, sailors, boy scouts, soldiers, engineers and others. The magnet which
makes use of electricity has made all types of electric and industrial motors.

Magnets are also useful in the doors of your refrigerator. ATM cards
also have magnetic strips where important information about the identity of
the owner is stored.

Many of your electrical appliances at home like mobile phones,

Heavy equipment used in construction purposes has electromagnets


to help machines function well.
