Appreciates the elements and principles applied in audio-video art.
Competency: A6PR-IVf
Key Concepts/ Audio-video/Audiovisual means possessing both a sound and a visual component, such as slide-tape
Understandings to be presentations, films, television programs, church services and live theater productions.
Developed: Computer-based audiovisual equipment is often used in education, with many schools and universities
installing projection equipment and using interactive whiteboard technology.
Audiovisual Art is the exploration of kinetic abstract art and music or sound set in relation to each
other. It includes visual music, abstract film, audiovisual performances and installations.
Element is a particular part of something.
Audiovisual Art uses the same elements as in the Elements of Visual Arts namely: line, color, texture,
perspective, space, form and volume.
Principles of Audiovisual Arts are as follows:
Guide the viewer’s eye, Control the clutter, Shorten your columns, Proper usage of white space,
Smart font choices, Keep things consistent, Watch your alignment, Let prominence inform position,
Offer easy access, Use contrasting colors
Video Recording is the process of recording moving images electronically.
Television is a telecommunication medium for transmitting and receiving images.

1.Objectives

Skills Applies concept on the use of software (commands, menu, etc.)
Attitude Uses the elements and principles learned.
Values Appreciates the value of elements and principles applied in audio-video art.

Cellphones or tablets with camera( atleast one for each group)
4. Procedures
A. Show this image to the class. Let them say something about it.

4.1.Introductory Activity
( 3-5 minutes)
Say: “Everyday we are able to record too many happenings around us via a digital camera , and new
gadgets like cellphones and tablets. “

“In this lesson, you will learn more about the best practices in recording an event whether that be
some disaster, a celebration, a school function, a performance, or a speech of an important
person, and the necessary equipment on gadget like a camera, recorder, cellphone , and the
like.”

Ask: Are you familiar with “vlogging”? This is a common term for video blogging. Just like in blogs, a
video blog is a diary entry of what you did for the day , a topic you want to discuss, or an activity you
want to show. (2-3 minute video)

Try to let the pupils make a video blog: (assuming the class are divided into groups already)
4.2. Activity
1. Using a cellphone or tablet, turn on the camera and press record.
( 10-15 minutes)
2. Introduce yourself and say something of interest.
3. You can show your school or classroom and say something about it.
4. You may share some of your hobbies or the things you like to do.
5. Conclude the video by sharing some of your aspirations or in life.
6. Share your video to other groups via SHAREit app.

1. Discuss on the groups’ outputs. Let each group representatives evaluate other group’s video.
4.3.Analysis
( 3 minutes) 2. Ask: “What do you think made the other group’s videos appealing than the others?”
( because the elements and the principles in audiovisual are being observed or used)
4.4. Abstraction A. Talk about the “Elements and Principles in Visual Arts”
(10.15 minutes) Say: “ Audiovisual Art uses the same elements as in the Elements of Visual Arts namely: line, color,

Principles of Audiovisual Arts are as follows:

(to be done on the 2nd day, but must be assigned to pupils after the discussions of elements and

---In groups of 4-5 members, make a short interview of a person you deem interesting or has
admirable qualities.

Materials to bring: a cellphone or tablet with a camera

1. In your group, discuss among yourselves the person you want to interview. Consider the
interesting aspects of his or her personality and the reason you want to share his or her

( 3 minutes) 2. Contact your interviewee and schedule the interview.
3. Prepare your questions and put them down on a piece of paper to serve as your guide
during the interview.
4. On the day of interview prepare the materials needed for video recording.
5. Assign one to two group members to conduct the interview while another will operate the
camera.
6. After the interview transfer the footage in your facebook account and tag the group
members and your adviser.
7. Present the video in class by sharing to SHAREit app.

5. Assessment
Review of the group output:
( 5 minutes) 1. How did your group choose your interviewee?
2. What were the challenges you encountered as a group in conducting the interview?
3. What values did you learn in the activity?
6. Assignment

( 2 minutes) Each group must have at least one cellphone with camera or a tablet and a product
sample you want make a promotion or advertisement. (example: Milo, Bear Brand,
Safeguard, etc.)

7. Wrap-up/ Concluding Activity
