Video  as  an  art  form  and  product  has  become  so  popular  in  delivering  and
exchanging  information,  messages,  or  telling  stories  to  wide  audiences.  Video
making  or  recording  became  part  of  informing  and  entertaining  people  using
different  choice  of  devices  with  wide  selection  of  software  and  platform  for
production.
As  a  learner,  we  can  also  share  our  thoughts  and  other  content  you  want  to
show  even  just  using  your  phone,  tablet,  or  computer.  If  you  are  creating  a  video
inserting  sounds  or  music  with  it,  you  are  doing  audio-visual  art.  It  is  a
combination  of  visual  art  with  sounds  or  music;  it  can  be  a  film,  an  animation,  a
documentary, or an art-video recording.
Creating or taking a Video
Video Recording  is  an electronic medium for the recording, copying, playback,
broadcasting,  and  show  of  moving  visual  images.  It  also  refers  to  a moving picture
of a television production made by photographing.
Video recording became more accessible today. Mobile phones, besides having
continuous  improvement  in  quality  of  resolution,  it  is  a  very  convenient  device.
There  are  a  lot  of  mobile  video  editing  application  that  we  can  download  that
enables us to edit and improve videos without transferring to a computer.
● KineMaster Pro  is  a  complete  video  editor  that  let  us  to  customize  tools
such  as  brightness,  contrast,  and  color.  You  can  also  add  transitions,
voice-over recordings, and audio.
● FilmoraGo  is  gives  an  essential  tool  you  need  from  basic  to  pro  editing.
Works with computer or as an android application.

To  edit  a  raw  video  footage,  incorporated  with  sounds  and  music,  we need to
use  computer  software.  Through  video editing software we can add transitions that
makes  it  as  professional-looking.  Adding  text,  sound,  effects,  and  music  gives
interaction to the viewer.
Mood in Color
In  photography  and  video  recording,  both  uses  light  and  different  color
affecting  the  way  you  see certain people and objects. These are elements of art that
matters  significantly  in  producing  audio-visual  art  like  video  recording.  Colors
convey specific moods when used properly in photography and video recording.
Color  is made of light. The way that you see colors are the outcome of the way
light  bounces  off  an  object.  It  brings  different  emotions.  Red,  yellow,  and  orange
belong  to  a  group  called  warm  colors.  They  are  called  such because it is the color
of  the  sun,  sunlight,  fire,  and  other  warm  objects.  These colors likewise make food
appetizing.
Blue, green, and purple are called cool colors. These are the colors of the sea,
ocean, sky, and fields.

The table below shows a general look at the meaning of some colors:

Videographers  also  measure  light  and  use  reflectors  to  make  their  subject  appear
clear on video.
The  principle  of  value  can  be  controlled  in  photography  and  videography  by
manipulating light to create the artist’s desired effect.
Value  is  the  varying  degree  of  light  or  dark  in  each  space.  It  also  means  the
characteristic  of  color  determined  by  light,  dark,  or  the  quality  of  light reflected by
the color.
Making  good  use  of  lights  and  darks  improves  artist’s  artwork.
Cinematographers  of  classical  Hollywood  utilizes  light  and  shadow  to  give  life  and
drama  to  the  image.  The  distribution  of  light  and  dark  in  a  picture  is  called
Chiaroscuro, it is an Italian word for “light and shadow”.
Lights and darks are referred to as value:
