1. Risk Assessment

Company carry out Risk assessment and is subject to regular reviews:

- New risk is identified and existing risk are confirmed and removed.
- Measures are adopted to reduce the identified risk.

2. Threat Detection

- Security threat is divided in two categories: Physical and Virtual

- Physical security threat is from Air, Land or Sea.
- Virtual threat are Cyber attack.

Equipment’s used for threat detection is in Appendix C of the hardening plan

- Regular security Drills and trainings are conducted.

- Lesson learnt are captures and circulated in the fleet

3. First Layer of Defence :

- Managing access to the vessel from the gangway during normal Operation.
- Preventing unauthorized access who wants to board the vessel..

Modes used by the vessel for preventing access while at sea and offshore depends on the threat and
the geographical location. BMP 5 is consulted for using the below are the modes used for preventing
the access to the vessel

a. Razor wire.
b. Spikes.
c. Plastic barriers.
d. Chain link fencing.
e. Water and Foam cannon system.
f. Ballast over flow.
g. Arm Guard (If deemed necessary)

CCTV monitoring.
j. Locking of Restricted areas in ports as list proved in Appendix A of the Hardening plan.
k. Security staff may be provided if required in ports.

4. Second Layer of Defence

Modes used by the vessel for preventing access while at sea and offshore depends on the threat and
the geographical location. BMP 5 is consulted for using the below are the modes used for preventing
the Delay to access to the vessel.

a. Secondary doors.
b. Monitoring
c. Door jammers (wooden Wedge, wire strobes to secure hatches, pallets on the way to the access
location)
d. Window blockers.
e. Metal fitting s to ladders making it difficult to climb.

- Designing security into new build ships is not applicable to this vessel.

Appendix B
- Training: All trainings are conducted as per the company policy and the training matrix.
- Briefing crew about Cyber security.
- Critical equipment’s such as ECDIS to directly connected to the LAN system. Implementing DTA
security. Using Passwords in the system.
