Suggestions

Orientation program on “Internal Complaints Committee” was successfully

conducted today and appreciated the chief guest Ms. R. Gokila, Advocate / Legal
Officer, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore and External member of ICC for
highlighting the definition of Sexual Harassment, function and role ICC to the
students with lifetime examples.
The Committee noted that no complaint of sexual harassment has been received
from any woman employee of this Institution.
It was insisted that in order to create awareness and continuous sensitization
among the women employees, it is necessary to place posters/notices defining
sexual harassment at prominent places in the campus.
Ministry of Women & Child Development jaunched an online complaint
management system titled Sexua! Harassment electronic -Box (She-Box) on 24th
July, 2017 for registering complaints related to Sexual Harassment at workplace.
The She-Box is an initiative to provide a platform to the women working or visiting
any office of Centra! Government (Central Ministries, Departments, Public Sector
Undertakings, Autonomous Bodies and Institutions etc.) to file complaints related
to
Sexual Harassment at workplace under the Sexual Harassment of Women at
workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.
Initiate to launch the online management system for registering complaints by
female employees of our institution.
The committee had discussed the following suggestions:
(i) ‘The following details must be uploaded in the college website:
(a) Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace(Prevention, Prohibition and
Redressal) Act and Rule 2013.
(b) ‘The Handbook on Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace,
(Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 issued by Ministry of
Women and Child Development.
(c} Constitution of the Internal Complaints Committee

(ii) Inform the web admin to upload the above said details in the college
website. P

ii) A complaint Drop box must be placed in the office premises.

(iv) Complaint regarding Sexual Harassment against women can be made either

in paper form or by sending e-mail to womensupport@sankara.ac.in.

** As discussed in the previous meeting, Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace,

Act 2013, The Handbook issued by MHRD and Constitution of ICC are available in
the website.

The Committee noted that no complaint of sexual harassment has been received

from any girl's students and woman employee of this Institution either in written
form or mail.

%* ICC members with contact number was given to all the departments and asked to
put it in the notice board for frequent view.

“ Ms. R. Gokila, Advocate and External member of ICC expressed that Educational
Institutions in Tamil Nadu have come under the radar for sexual harassment cases,
the latest being Nirmala Devi’s sex for marks scam at Devanga Arts College in
Virudhunagar district. In another incident, a warden of a private hostel in
Coimbatore was caught wooing students for sexual favours with the owner of the
hostel. Also recent news alleging that Dr. S.N. Subramanian, Chairman, SNS Group of
Educational Institutions spoke to women employee of the institution in a demeaning
manner and had been sexually harassing her for a long period of time.

should not get fear and hide any incident regarding sexual harassment during the

successfully conducted and the convener explained the Role and

Functions of ICC as mentioned in Regulation Act 2015 in detail.

* ‘The reconstitution of ICC was successfully formed on 15.07.2019.

“+ Any woman employee of our institution including faculty and office staff,
students as well as any woman residing in the campus or visiting the campus in
any capacity may file a complaint against an incident of sexual harassment
through a written complaint or an email to womensupport@sankara.ac.in.
The ICC members should start the inquiry process once the complaint is
repistered.

“ The Presiding Officer and every Member of the ICC shall hold office for such
period, not exceeding three years, from the date of nomination. The following
committee members were appointed under section 4 of this Act.

* Sexual Harassment Complaints - December month

Review:
¢ In association with the Department of Physical Education conducted an
awareness programme on “Self Vigilance and Self Defense” for the girls’
students on 17.12.2019 at 2.00 pm.

% The Committee noted that no complaint of sexual harassment has been received from
any girl’s students and women emplcyee of this Institution either in written form
or
mail.

* The committee has planned to conduct Self Defense Training in association with
Elaya Bharatham Seva Trust and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).

* Plan to submit the proposal and Training Schedule as follows for arrpoval
1. 07.01.2020 — Training for 10 interested girls students at KSG College of Arts
and
Science, CBE.
2. 20.01.2020 to 24.01.2020 - Training for 100 students by well trained Karate
Master in our college premises.
3. 25.01.2020 — 100 trained students participating in the Mega Demonstration at
Hindustan College of Arts and Science, CBE.

e Orientation Program on ICC

Permission was granted by Principal and Vice Principal to conduct an

orientation program on “Internal Complaints Committee”,

Plan to inform the Internal Complaints Committee members and their role and
responsibility to | year girls students during the orientation program and It is
planned on 22.09.2020 at 3.00 pm through Google Hangouts Meet.

Plan to create Girls Grievances Form and send to all the girls students to enter
their queries / grievances.

Members are asked to inform the students of their department and inform about
the Grievances form.

Meeting will be planned on end of this month and meeting link will be send to
the respondents through mail. Principal madam will address the girls students
and plan to discuss the queries post by the students.

With reference to the letter dated 12.06.2018 B3/ICC/2018 cited in reference

(1), our college constituted an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) on

25.06.2018.

As Principal Madam Instruction, members of ICC will remain the same until the
need arise to change the constitution.

Reconstitution of Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) members

¢ The orientation program on “Internal Complaints Committee” was

Successfully conducted and the convener explained the Role and

Functions of ICC as mentioned in Regulation Act 2015 in detail,

Principal Madam addressed the girls students and interacted with

students towards their grievances / queries / requirements

The reconstitution of ICC was successfully formed on 15.11.2020

“ Any woman employee of our institution. including faculty and office staff,
students as well'as any woman residing in the campus or visiting the campus in
any capacity may file a complaint against an incident of sexual harassment
through a written complaint or an email to womensupport@sankara.ac.in.

The ICC members should start the inquiry process once the complaint is
registered. : 7

* The Presiding Officer and every Member of the ICC shall hold office for such
period, not exceeding three years, from the date of nomination. The following
committee members were appointed under section 4 of this Act.

* Reconstitution of ICC members with contact number and mail Id has planned to
give to all the department, office, lab, library, hostel and canteen. The HOD, AO,

librarian, lab admin, hostel warden and the canteen in charge to place it in the
notice board for frequent view.

MHRD and Constitution of ICC is available in the website for students and staff
references.
