4. PROCEDURES
● Introductory Activity
● The teacher will conduct an opening prayer.
● The teacher will greet the students.
● The teacher will check the class attendance.
● Activity
Before starting the lesson, the teacher will ask the students to stand up.
The teacher provides animal pictures. She will ask the students to clap 2
times if the animal moves fast and 1 time if it moves slowly.

● Analysis
After that the teacher will ask the following questions.

1. What have you observed in the animals given?


2. What other animals move fast? How about those who move
slowly?

The teacher will proceed to the presentation of the learning objectives.


At the end of this lesson, students are expected to:

A. Identify the different variations of tempo in the given song;


b. Create a graphic organizer about the variations of tempo;
c. Practice active participation in completing the task; and
d. Appreciate the importance of tempo in our daily routine.

● Abstraction
The teacher will now begin the discussion.

Tempo- Refers to the speed of music.


- This tells whether the music is fast or slow.

Tempo is also described in different variations.

TEMPO DEFINITION

Largo/ Lento Slow (52-108 bpm)

Andante At a walking pace, moderately slow


(56-108 bpm)

Ritardando A gradual decrease in speed.

Accelerando A gradual increase in speed.

Allegro Fast and Bright (100-156 bpm)

Vivace Lively and Fast (136-160 bpm)

Presto Very fast (136-160 bpm)

Sample melodies or songs are provided as an example in each variation.

● Application
The teacher will ask the students to participate in the class activity.

Instruction:
The teacher will divide the class into groups. The members of each group
will brainstorm about the learnings they learned from the teacher’s
discussion. After that, each group will arrange their ideas using a graphic
organizer. The students will also put designs on their output to make it
presentable.

The group’s output will be given points based on the criteria provided.

Criteria:

Organization 5 points
Creativity 5 points
