PROGRAMME OBJECTIVE
To enable Police Officers, State Cybercrime Cells, Law
Enforcement Agencies, Prosecutors, Judicial Officers and
others with the requisite skills to deal with cybercrime
cases and use Digital Forensics in an efficient and effec�ve
manner in accordance with laws of India while adop�ng
best prac�ces, standards and guidelines followed across
the globe.

CHALLENGES
With the advent of digital age and increased use of mobile
phones and computers, the world is witnessing a
phenomenal increase in cybercrimes over the past few
years which pose a major challenge for the Law
Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) across the world. To deal
with this increasing rate of cybercrimes, under the flagship
programme of Digital India, Ministry of Electronics and
Informa�on Technology, Government of India has launched
this online capacity building programme.
Some of the major challenges include:
 Lack of trained workforce in the domain of cybercrime
inves�ga�ons.
 Lack of standard frameworks indica�ng the required
skill sets.
 Lack of resources in Training Ins�tu�ons.
 Need for exper�se in cybercrime inves�ga�on to train
others (TOT).

Na�onal e-Governance Division (NeGD) in associa�on


with the Na�onal Law Ins�tute University (NLIU),
ONLINE PG DIPLOMA IN Bhopal under the Digital India Programme has taken up
CYBER LAW, CYBERCRIME the ini�a�ve to offer nine months ‘Online PG Diploma
in Cyber Law, Cybercrime Inves�ga�on and Digital
INVESTIGATION AND Forensics’ and prac�cal training in a phased manner to
DIGITAL FORENSICS 1000 officials including Police, State Cyber Cells, Law
Enforcement Agencies, Prosecutors and Judicial Officers
through the Learning Management System (LMS).

ADVANTAGES OF THE PROGRAMME


This online programme facilitates con�nuous, systema�c
learning in a blended format. It enables learners to experience
any�me anywhere learning on the go, without displacing them
physically. This programme will include e-content and live
online sessions in the form of webinars from various industry
experts and academia. In addi�on, each enrolled trainee will
undergo an instructor led prac�cal training session and personal
contact program at the designated cyber forensic lab for a
period of two weeks during the course.

content and 78 reading materials were also provided to the par�cipants. Training for the first batch is
completed through CytrainSetu LMS and par�cipants have qualified to receive the PG Diploma from
NLIU, Bhopal
