Good luck with your interview with Amazon!
Congratulations on reaching the next stage of the recruitment process
at Amazon! We would like to wish you the best of luck and remind you
of some important information regarding this process.

Recruitment process structure

▪ Depending on the seniority of the role there will be 1-2 telephone interviews with the
hiring manager and 1 with the senior leadership team. Each telephone interview will last
around 45 minutes to 1 hour.
▪ If successful, you will be progressed to a number of virtual interviews that will last 45
minutes to 1 hour.

▪ Behavioral questions which are based on Amazon Leadership Principles.

▪ The interviewer will evaluate different leadership principles during your interview process.
You can expect to be assessed on 2 Leadership Principles per interview.
▪ The interviews will be conducted in English.

How to prepare ?

Let’s walk through some helpful tips for the interview process.
Interview Tips

▪ About the team/position: The interview will be with the Hiring Team or Specialists for the
role, who will share more information with you about the position. From there, they will go
deeper into your experience and background. The questions will also consist of
functional/technical questions about your experience.

▪ The interviewers are attempting to simulate a real-life working environment.

▪ Amazon Leadership Principles: Be prepared to answer questions about your experience that
relate back to the Amazon Leadership Principles. Our interviews are rooted in behavioral-
based questions which ask about past situations and challenges you’ve faced and how you
handled them, using Leadership Principles to guide the discussion. Prepare at least 2 examples
per Leadership Principle.

▪ STAR method: Keep your answers structured and straight forward, directly related to the
interviewer’s questions. Amazon is a data-driven company so focus on the question asked,
ensure your answer is well-structured and provide examples using metrics or data if
applicable. This will help in understanding the impact of your actions and your examples in
general. Make sure to emphasize your actions, contributions and results. Reference recent
situations whenever possible. Learn more about our interview style in this Video: Interviewing

▪ Questions: feel free to ask any questions about the role, the team, or how is it to work for
Amazon. This is a good opportunity to get to know more about the experience within the
company, and to clarify any doubts or questions you might have.

After your interview

▪ As per policy, you will be provided only with the result of the interview as we do not
provide specific feedback regarding the outcome.

▪ A few days after your final interviews, you will receive a satisfaction survey. We greatly
appreciate your feedback which will be recorded anonymously. The recruitment team will
review the feedback to improve the recruitment process based on your
recommendations.

▪ We strive to get back to you within 5 business days after your interviews. If you haven't
heard from us by then, feel free to send us an email.
