2. Course Title : Physics I / Physics
3. Course Type: Basic Science
4 . Semester: Fall 2023
5. Academic Session: Spring 2023/Fall 2023
6. Course Teacher/Instructor : Sonet Kumar Saha, Assistant Professor, Dept. of EEE
7. Pre-requisite (If any) : No prerequisite
8. Credit Value : 3.00
9. Contact Hours : 3 hrs
10. Total Marks: 100
11. Rationale of the Course : Basic science, sometimes called “pure” or “fundamental” science, helps researchers
understand living systems and life processes. This knowledge leads to better ways to predict, prevent, diagnose, and
treat disease. Researchers try to answer fundamental questions about how life works through basic science.
12. Course Objectives :
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
Students demonstrate appropriate competence and a working knowledge of basic physics, including the areas
of Heat and Thermodynamics, Waves and Oscillations and Optics.
Students demonstrate the ability to identify and apply the appropriate analytic, numerical, computational, and
other mathematical tools necessary to solve physics problems.
