months.
Under New Delhi - Consular districts for India: states of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh,
Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and the Union Territories of
Chandigarh, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands,
Lakshadweep, Minicoy and Amindive.
Under Bengaluru - Karnataka and Kerala
Under Chennai - States of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Union Territory
of Puducherry.
Under Kolkata - West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh,
Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura belong to the consular area of the
German Consulate General Kolkata.
Under Mumbai - Maharashtra, the Union States of Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Goa, Madhya
Pradesh, Union Territories of Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
Processing time – 28to 90 working days is the standard processing time of all consulates
in India. Embassy will take the required amount of time as per their process and this cannot
be expedited in any ways or methods. Please do not compare your visa processing time
with our friends, colleagues, etc because that is something specific in everyone’s case.
Also, embassy has the right to ask you for any additional documentation or clarification
via email or call interview which is again something not under our control or influence.

After applying at he visa application center make sure to write to
zzVISABVA@bva.bund.de for checking your status. Do not directly write to the consulate
or embassy this is something they do not like this might create an obstacle in your
processing.
You should get the updates of visa status via embassy or vfs on sms and mail if you opted
for these services, do not forget to check your junk, spam and promotional folders in emails.
The below checklist has some samples for references do not ponder your banks and argue
forgetting the same , if they follow a separate sample it will be accepted if it has all required
details.

6 Admit letter The one that you received from university attach
Pre admit letter as well if you have received so.
In G/E language.
7 Fees Payment This you must have received from university on
Receipt it letter head , in case you are going for paid
course then one year complete fees has to be paid
and receipts have to be attached.
8 Visa Letter and This certificate is usually provided by the
Signed university in support of your visa application and
Contract the signed agreement is in case of a paid course at
any university. In G/E language.
9 Additional This supporting letter has to be taken by
Letter- university in case if you have received admit on
Language basis of low score of IELTS like below 6.5. This
extension letter is a mandatory letter in such cases. Extension
letter is required in case if your applying late to
visa and the universities permission to reach late
after course start date.
10 Qualification Degree certificate

11 Work Attach current bonafide or relieving or work
experience experience completion letter and letters of all
previous work experiences and internships.
12 German Attach German language certificates if available
Language proof and if was mandatory to get the admit by your
university.
13 IELTS/TOEFL The certificates should not be older than a year is
mentioned on Embassy website but they have

accepted older than a year’s certificates in last
intake.
This has to be a color copy.
14 Blocking This certificate is received by student once he
Confirmation has transferred he blocked amount in his blocked
Form 6 /Balance account of Expatrio or Fintiba or ICICI bank. In
confirmation case if it is unavailable till visa date then please
certificate attach swift copy.

15 Loan Sanction Please collect this letter from the bank in their
letter (if any) given appropriate format or the sample can be
shared with them >>

16 Loan This letter is mandatory if the bank has provided
Disbursement you any disbursement in case of payment of
letter (if any) tuition fees or blocked account. Check the

17 Sponsors Pan Sponsor is the person who has supported you
card or financially and taken loan on your behalf his/ her
passport pan card copy with signature will be required.
18 Last six months Attach this with bank stamp and sign on every
savings account page even if its system generated.

19 Affidavit of This is a letter confirming the permission and no
Sponsor/Suppo objection provided by your sponsor on legal
rt paper of (100 Rs stamp paper). Check sample for

20 Passport copy - Has to be color copy on A2 size page front and
(A4 size copy) back page on same side. This has to be a color
copy.
21 Travel This is the insurance provided by your blocking
insurance account provider this should have a start date of

your estimated travel date which usually is a
week before your course start.
22 Health The membership certificate is provided by health
insurance insurance company like TK, Barmer, AOK or
DAK. The start date of the health insurance
should be the same as the start date of the
course.
23 Visa Photo Has to be 80% face coverage and white 3.5, by

24 CV Attach the updated and signed CV.
25 APS Include the same as received by the APS office
Delhi.
Note: For students who are going to a free /public university course where there
is no tuition fees but just the minimal student’s union contribution or admin
charges, they need not prepare or present any documents related to
sponsorships or loan or additional funds.
The embassy approves visa on the basis of blocked account only for free course
hence there documents won’t be required.
(Documents 15- 19 are subject to students going for a paid course only)
