Second Semester (End-of-Year) Reflection

This year especially I believe I have improved my writing more than I have any year

before. I think one of the major things that I've learned this year was how to integrate quotes and

make them flow better in the sentences. This has really improved my writing skills in not only

this class but in my other classes. I also learned how to make a proper work cited page which I

was unclear on before, this also has been carried out in my other classes and my grades on

writing papers have improved because of it. I also improved my editing skills on my essays,

before I would just write my whole paper, look over it once then turn it in, but the editing

process can be equally if not more important than the writing process. Believe that I am a faster

writer now than I was and I have a system that I've created that works perfectly for me so that I

can get my essays and writing assignments done well. I also think I need to improve upon my

vocabulary and the flow from topic to topic when I am writing an essay that has multiple parts to

it, using transition words like furthermore and secondly. Next I Think need to approve up on

advocating for myself when I believe I need more time to complete an assignment instead of just

turning it in without being confident in the work. It never hurts to ask and that is something I

have learned in this class and am forever grateful for your understanding. A price that

Exemplifies my work is the writing assignment we just did, the personal narrative, It didn't have

all of the proper functions of MLA format but I really enjoyed writing that piece which i think
helped me to write better, I did a really good job at conveying my message and when I wanted to

say. I think a skill I struggle with is managing my time. With all the skills we learned this year I

still believe that I don't give myself enough time to complete assignments which can reflect in

my work and I want to better improve upon that going into my senior year so that I don't stress

myself out. Senior year I hope I am able to capitalize on these struggles and better Prove not only

my vocabulary but my timeliness so that I can have a (for the most part) stress free last school

year at nhs. Personal goals I've had for high school is to get my work done but also have a proper

school and life balance. It keeps me grounded and helps me to manage my stress especially in

this junior year. Having that balance really helped to keep me centered and happy in every era of

life. Academically I would like to maintain The average I have so I can give myself A good shot

at the schools that I would like to go to and prepare for College. College has always been a huge

goal for me and I am so excited to start that next chapter of my life but I need to stay focused and

learn from my mistakes so I can attend a school that I am truly passionate about. This class has

helped me a multitude of classes but surprisingly it has also helped me in my marketing class,

writing quickly is easy and writing pieces has never been easier, i have always been afraid of

writing since it has never been my strong suit but with the confidence i have build in this class it

has really helped me. Also the work that we did on MLA formatting has helped me greatly in my

history class when we do have to write those longer papers that may take more time and have a

lot more detail to them. Lit has always been a tough subject for me but with the lessons I learned

in this class I believe I am set up for success in the future. My favorite thing we did in this class

was reading and watching the great gatsby. The storyline of the great Gatsby was super relatable

and felt very real to me even though the book is older. I think each and every person can learn

something from that book weather rits about friendship, money or love. Reading the Great
Gatsby was probably one of the first times in a class in school that I have genuinely been

interested in a book and a storyline because it felt relatable and still holds many real truths of

today and i think that each and every person who reads it will have some sort of a take away

from it. All and all I learned a lot in this class. I may not remember each and every assignment or

paper I turned in but the lessons we learned will not only help me in the future but prepare me for

what is to come.
