A DETECTOR AND MANUAL CALL

1 Check all smoke detectors and


manual call point for damage or √
obstruction.

2 Test the detectors and manual call


point and observe the signal

monitoring in fire alarm control
panel and verify each zone.

3 Check visually whether the


detectors are coated with paint √
other than original coating provided.

4 Check the operation of at least 20%


of the detectors in an installation

every year so that a cycle of testing
is created every 5 years.

2 Check the noise level in decibels at


selected area and replace them if √

indications are in operable condition
by simulating the systems:
• Pump monitoring
• Sprinkler flow switch
• Fixed Gas system
monitoring
• Pressurization fan, AHU,
PAHU, FCU tripping
monitoring

3 Visually check the condition of all


electronic components such as
resistors, capacitors, fuses,

contractors, charger, rectifier,
transformer, zone card components
etc.

4 Check the operation of all alarm √


bells and its isolation

5 Check the buzzer operation √

6 Check power supply failure by √


isolating the main supply to ensure
automatic changeover to standby
power supply

7 Check the operability of AC and DC √


fuses

8 Check the control panel is in clean


operable condition and ensure that

the enclosure is maintaining a
satisfactory dust seal.

9 Ensure all switches and test


facilities are return to their normal

position and the panel is reset to its
normal operating condition.

E STANDBY BATTERY

1 Check the changeover of power by √


isolating the main supply switch or
removing the A/C fuse and carry out
zone alarm tests using the battery
power supply.

2 Check battery condition, √


compartment, terminals for defects.

3 Check battery voltage by operating √


the battery test switch and record
the voltage under load condition.

4 Clean the battery compartment. √

D FIRE ALARM CONTROL PANEL

1 Check the fascia LED lights for its operation and to ensure non-
fused.

2 Check the following signal indications are in operable condition by


simulating the systems:
• Pump monitoring
• Sprinkler flow switch
• Fixed Gas system monitoring
• Pressurization fan,AHU,PAHU,&FCU tripping monitoring
