JOB INTERVIEW SCRIPT OF

ENGLISH FOR BUSINESS PRACTICE EXAM

Interviewer: Good morning/afternoon. Please have a seat. I'm Fajar HR of ….. And
you are?

Applicant: Good morning/afternoon, Mr. Fajar. My name is Alya. It's a pleasure for me
to meet you today.

Interviewer: How was your trip to reach this office? Do you find any difficulties?

Applicant: " The trip was good, thank you. There was no traffic,thats
why I arrived on time ."

Interviewer: Okay, This is going to be a very short and meaningful interview. I have
few five questions for you. To begin, I'd like to talk about Tell me about yourself?

Applicant: Thank you for the opportunity. My name is Alya Latfia Febrianti, and I
recently graduated with a degree in Accounting from Airlangga University. I have
experience in financial reporting and tax auditing from an internship at PT. PERSADA
MAKMUR, where I worked on.

Interviewer: Sounds interesting. What do you know about our company?

Applicant: "I know that your company is well-regarded in the industry for its
commitment to excellence and innovation. I admire your reputation for quality and
integrity."

Interviewer: What was your latest education and what was your major and why didyou
choose it?

Applicant: "I graduated in Accounting from Airlangga University. And I chose


this major because I am interested in the role financial information plays in
business decision-making and wanted to develop expertise in this field.

Interviewer: If you could do it over again, would you stay in the same field? Why?

Applicant: " Yes, I would because I find it interesting and


essential for business decision- making."

Interviewer: Now, could you tell me What are your greatest strengths?

Applicant: "My greatest strengths are my skills, details, and proficiency with
accounting software."

Interviewer: What are some things you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Applicant: "In my spare time, i enjoy reading about accounting and volunteering"

Interviewer: What specific qualifications do you have for this job?

Applicant: "I hold a degree in Accounting and skilled in financial software and
analysis, making me well-prepared for this role."
Interviewer: Can you talk about your previous work experience, whether part-time
jobs or internships?

Applicant: "I interned in accounting, where I gained experience in financial


reporting and using accounting software."

Interviewer: What were your biggest achievements in School/University?

Applicant: "My biggest achievements is Graduating with honors in Accounting and


leading a successful financial analysis project."
Interviewer: Why should we hire you when there are other applicants with better
credentials or more experience?

Applicant: "I believe i am passionate about accounting and committed to


contributing effectively to your team."

Interviewer: Where do you see yourself five years from now?

Applicant: "In five years, I see myself as a professional accountant, based on my


accounting skills and experience to contribute to your company's success."

Interviewer: If you were hired for this position, what would you do to ensure that youfit in?

Applicant: "I would focus on learning the company's processes and values, actively
participating in team activities to improve my skills."

Interviewer: What are your greatest weaknesses?

Applicant: "I tend to be a perfectionist, but I'm learning to manage it by setting


realistic goals."

Interviewer: Is there anything you would like to change about your personality? What is this
and why?

Applicant: "I would like to be less self-critical at times. I believe this would help
me be more confident in my decisions and actions."

Interviewer: How did you prepare for this interview?

Applicant: "I reviewed your company's background also the job details."

Interviewer: Have you ever faced an ethical dilemma? What did you do and how did
you feel about it?

Applicant: "Yes, I faced an ethical dilemma when I found a mistake in the financial
records at my internship. I reported it to my supervisor, when I felt it was crucial.”

Interviewer: If a superior gave you instructions to do something in a particular way, and you
knew that way was wrong, what actions would you take?

Applicant: "I would discuss my concerns with my superior. If the instruction


didn't change, I would follow it.”

Interviewer: What kind of salary of salary do you expect?

Applicant: "I would expect a salary in the range of IDR 6,000,000 to IDR
10,000,000, but I am open to discussing the overall compensation."

Interviewer: Last but not least. Please convince me to let you work for this company?

Applicant: "I am dedicated to contributing my skills and work to your team,


ensuring quality and efficiency in all tasks."

Interviewer: Thanks a lot Mr/Ms nice talk with you. Do you have any question?

Applicant: "I don't have any question. thank you."
