General Questions Related to Community Work

1. Why do you want to join the Operations department of LCSS?


2. What previous experience do you have in community service or related fields?
3. How do you think you can contribute to the mission of LCSS?

Operations Department-Specific Questions

1. Describe a time when you had to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. How did you
ensure everything was completed accurately and on time?
2. How would you handle a situation where there is a discrepancy in the inventory records?
3. What steps would you take to ensure that all purchase requisitions are properly
documented and tracked?

Scenario-Based Questions

1. Imagine you are in charge of ordering inventory for a major event, but the supplier
informs you of a delay. How would you handle this situation to ensure the event proceeds
smoothly?
2. You notice that a significant amount of inventory is missing. What actions would you
take to address this issue?
3. A team member is consistently late with their tasks, impacting the entire operation. How
would you address this with them?

How to ensure Commitment from New Recruits? (As it is a major issue, most of the inductees
leave the society in the middle of the year )

1)In-Depth Interview Process

Scenario-Based Questions: Use hypothetical situations to gauge long-term commitment.

Example: "During exam periods, how would you manage your time to fulfill your
responsibilities in the Operations department?"

2)Past Experiences: Ask about previous long-term commitments.

Gender Ratio in the Operation Department


I prefer an equal ratio between males and females. Most of the physical work should be done by
boys and online work should be done by girls
Hostellite and Day-Scholar:
75% Hostellite and 25% Day Scholar as it is easy for people living in hostels to do the work of
inventory
Qualities to Look For

 Attention to Detail
Operations work requires meticulous attention to detail to manage databases, inventory,
and procurement processes accurately.
 Organizational Skills
The ability to keep track of multiple tasks and ensure everything is organized and
properly stored is essential.
 Reliability and Commitment
Candidates must demonstrate reliability and a commitment to seeing tasks through to
completion, as mid-way dropouts can severely impact operations.
 Team Collaboration
Ability to work collaboratively with the Finance department and other team members to
ensure smooth operations.
 Problem-Solving Skills
Aptitude for thinking on their feet and coming up with solutions to logistical challenges.
 Technical Proficiency
Basic knowledge of database management and familiarity with tools like Excel and other
inventory management software.
