Health and Safety Requirements relating to the design and construction of equipment and protective systems
intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres given in Annex II to the Directive.
The examination and test results are recorded in confidential Report No. 02(C)021O
9 Compliance with the Essential Health and Safety Requirements has been assured by compliance with :

EN 50014: 1997 + Amendments 1 & 2, EN 60079-7:2003, prIEC60079-18:2003,


EN13463-1:2001, prENI3463-5:2003
except in respect of those requirements listed at item 18 of the Schedule.
10 If the sign " X" is placed after the certificate number, it indicates that the equipment or protective system is subjec t
to special conditions for safe use specified in the schedule to this certificate.
11 This EC - TYPE EXAMINATION CERTIFICATE relates only to the design and construction of the specified
equipment or protective system. Further requirements of the Directive apply to the manufacturing process and
supply of this equipment or protective system. These are not covered by this certificate.

15 Description of Equipment or Protective System


The Type 'FP' Solenoid consists of an encapsulated coil contained within a cylindrical stainless steel enclosure. TIle
encapsulated coil is adhered within a magnetic iron holder inside the enclosure. A soft magnetic iron armature located in
the centre of the coil connects to an adjusting rod which passes through the base on the enclosure . An o-ring seal maintains
the ingress protection (lP) rating of the enclosure .
A removable lid secured by four socket-head cap screws provides access to the ATEX EExe approved terminals, enabling
connection to an external supply with a rating of 24V DC, 3.7W. A threaded entry hole is provided in the side of the
enclosure to allow a suitable ATEX approved cable entry to be used, which must maintain the IP66 rating of the enclosure.
TIle lid of the enclosure may include one of the two types of manual override buttons, either spring return or detented.
