A. Introduction
This document contains the installation guide of SAP GUI version 7.70. The purpose of installing SAP GUI
version 7.70 is for preparation for access to the latest SAP software version (version 2021), as the previous
versions of SAP GUI are not compatible with the newest SAP software version for operation. SAP GUI version
7.70 can also be used to access the current SAP software version (version 1610).
The procedures in this document are arranged based on the condition of the user's device.

1. Installation for Old/New Telkomsel Device with Previous Version of SAP GUI
Installed
1.1. Backup SAP GUI Connection
If previous version of SAP GUI already installed, this installation will automatically update the SAP GUI
connection in the latest version. Connection parameters of SAP Systems defined in previous version of SAP
GUI usually will not be deleted and automatically available when SAP GUI is upgraded. Meanwhile, for
preventive actions, this connection parameters could be backup.
2. Click on SAP Logon Options, click on Configuration Files, and check the folder path of the
SAPUILandscape.xml and SAPUILandscapeGlobal.xml

3. Go to folder of the SAPUILandscape.xml and SAPUILandscapeGlobal.xml and copy these files to another
folder to backup.

4. SAP Front End Installer of SAP GUI 7.70 Patch Level 8 window will pop-up. Click Next.
5. Choose SAP GUI for Windows 7.70 Compilation 1 Patch 8 and click on Next.

6. Wait for the installer to run the process.
8. After reboot, please open SAP GUI 770 by searching for “SAP Front End” folder in Application, then click
on SAP Logon.

9. SAP GUI Logon 770 version has been installed successfully. To check the version and Patch Level, please
click on the SAP Logon icon and click About SAP Logon.
To load connection parameter of SAP System using xml files, perform following steps:

2. Click on SAP Logon Options folder and click on Configuration Files.
3. Choose the folder of SAP GUI Landscape that contain SAPUILandscape.xml and
SAPUILandscapeGlobal.xml.
4. Copy the previous backup of xml and paste in this path folder of SAP Landscape.
5. After choosing the landscape xml, we can see the entries of system connection in SAP Logon as our
previous SAP Logon.

8. After reboot, please open SAP GUI 770 by searching for “SAP Front End” folder in Application, then click
on SAP Logon.

9. SAP GUI Logon 770 version has been installed successfully. To check the version and Patch Level, please
click on the SAP Logon icon and click About SAP Logon.

Import certificate
1. Open the folder contain all the certificates.
2. Double click on Root CA.crt, warning window will popup, click on Open.
4. User can choose to store location in current user only or local machine, and then click on Next.

5. For certificate store, choose "Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of certificate"
and click on Next.

2. Select User Specified System and click on Next.
3. Create New System Entry window will appear. Populate the fields as below:
Connection Type : Group/Server Selection
Description : SAP Prod
System ID : S4P
Message Server : erpsshaspapp1.telkomsel.co.id:3631
After this field, you may click Tab so Group/Server automatically populated, or you can manually fill.
Group/Server : PUBLIC
Instance Number : 30
Then click on Finish.

2.4. Install SLC
1. Open software center (make sure VPN is connected) and search for “SAP_SLC”.
3. Wait while the program download, and then install the application.
4. After installation completed, open the SAP secure login client app

5. On SAP Secure Login Client window, go to File > Options.
6. Go to Policy Groups tab, enter hostname: https://erpswipapp1.telkomsel.co.id and click refresh. Select
group: Telkomsel-SecureLoginGroup and click on OK.
7. Back to the SAP Secure Login Client, right click Telkomsel-ISAM server authentication and choose Use
Profile for SAP Applications.
8. SAP Secure Login Client window will appear. A star will appear in the top right showing that the profile is
ready to be used for SAP login. Double click on the ISAM profile to login use domain user.

3.1. Install SAP GUI

7. After installation is completed, reboot your computer to complete the process
8. After reboot, please open SAP GUI 770 by searching for “SAP Front End” folder in Application, then click
on SAP Logon.
9. SAP GUI Logon 770 version has been installed successfully. To check the version and Patch Level, please
click on the SAP Logon icon and click About SAP Logon.

3.2. Import Certificate
Download certificate
1. Download files from link: https://bit.ly/SAPNewsUpgrade
Certificate SLC: Root CA.crt, SAP Sub CA.crt, SSL Sub CA.crt, and User Sub CA.crt
2. Double click on Root CA.crt, warning window will popup, click on Open.

3. On certificate window, click on Install Certificate.
4. User can choose to store location in current user only or local machine, and then click on Next.
5. For certificate store, choose "Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of certificate"
and click on Next.

6. To complete the certificate import step, click on Finish.

7. Back to the SAP Secure Login Client, right click Telkomsel-ISAM server authentication and choose Use
Profile for SAP Applications.
8. SAP Secure Login Client window will appear. A star will appear in the top right showing that the profile is
ready to be used for SAP login. Double click on the ISAM profile to login use domain user.

2. Hover the mouse cursor and click SAP Logo at the top-left of SAP window. Then choose Options.
4. At the right section, you will find HTML Control tab. In Browse Control, choose Edge (based on
Chromium option.

5. Save the setting by click OK then continue to login to SAP instance.

4. Installation for Personal Device (Windows) with Previous Version of SAP GUI
Installed
4.1. Backup SAP GUI Connection
If previous version of SAP GUI already installed, this installation will automatically update the SAP GUI
connection in the latest version. Connection parameters of SAP Systems defined in previous version of SAP
GUI usually will not be deleted and automatically available when SAP GUI is upgraded. Meanwhile, for

is completed.

3. Choose SAP GUI for Windows 7.70 Compilation 1 Patch 8 and click on Next.

4.3. Load Connection Parameter
For new installation (no previous version of SAP GUI installed in PC) or if for some reason the connection
parameter of SAP system deleted, we could load the connection from backup instead reconfigure the
connections one by one.
To load connection parameter of SAP System using xml files, perform following steps:

Download SAP GUI 7.70 Installer and Patch 8 for SAP GUI 7.70
1. Double click on GUI770_8-70004692 installer file (in Download folder) and wait for self-extractor process
is completed.
2. SAP Front End window will pop up for Installer of SAP GUI 7.70 Patch Level 8, click on Next.

2. If warning “Window protected your PC” appear, go to More info, and click on Run anyway.
4. After installation completed, open the SAP secure login client app

3. If warning appear, click on Open.
4. SAP GUI for Java Installation window will pop up, click on Next on installation step (1) Introduction and
(2) Readme.
5. On step (3) Define Options, leave all field as it is and click on Install.

6. Step (4) Install will start, wait until the process is finished.
7. After completed. step (5) Summary will show notification that installation has finished, click on Close.
8. Search and open SAPGUI 7.70rev7.app to make sure SAP GUI has been installed.

4. SAP GUI for Java Installation window will pop up, click on Next on installation step (1) Introduction and
(2) Readme.
5. On step (3) Define Options, leave all field as it is and click on Install.
6. Step (4) Install will start, wait until the process is finished.

7. After completed. step (5) Summary will show notification that installation has finished, click on Close.
8. Search and open SAPGUI 7.70rev7.app to make sure SAP GUI has been installed.

2. Download results are shown in Download folder.
Import certificate
1. Double click Root CA.crt
2. If error "This root certificate is not trusted" appear, click on the secure login root CA on keychain
access window, on trust part, choose "Always Trust" for "When using this certificate" field.

3. Continue same steps on other certificates to import. If import success, then the certificate will appear in
keychain access window with no error.

2. Double click on SecureLoginClient.pkg, install SAP Single Sign-on-Secure Login client window will pop up,
on introduction step click on Continue.

3. On installation type, click on Install.
4. If SAP GUI is open, warning window will pop up, click on Close Application and Install.

6. When installation complete, click on Close.
7. Open the SAP Secure Login Client application and go to Preference to setup (make sure VPN still
connected).
8. Secure Login Client - Preference window will pop up, go to Policy Group tab, enter the host
https://erpswipapp1.telkomsel.co.id and click on Refresh.
10. On SAP Secure Login Client - Login window, enter domain username and password and approve the
request on passport.

11. Go to SAP Secure Login Client, show profiles. SAP secure login client window will popup.
12. Click on the Telkomsel-ISAM server authentication and choose Use profile for SAP Applications.
13. The box in the right will be checked, and SLC ready for SAP GUI login.
