6.0 Procedure
Setting out:
Transfer the positions of structures, columns, walls, and other elements from the construction drawings onto the ground.
Use a total station or GPS equipment to accurately set out the positions, bearing, and levels as per the design plans.
Install temporary survey markers (stakes, flags, etc.) to define the layout and assist construction teams.
Methodology:
a. Planning and Preparation:
Review the construction drawings and reinforcement schedules to understand the required reinforcement quantities, sizes, and
details.
Coordinate with the main contractor and other trades to ensure proper sequencing and coordination of reinforcement installation.
Ensure that necessary safety precautions are taken, including provision for safe access, scaffolding, and edge protection.
Adhere to the approved bending schedules for rebars, ensuring accurate dimensions and angles.
Properly store the cut and bent rebars to prevent distortion and damage during handling.
d. Installation:
Prepare the reinforcement layout by marking the positions of rebars on formwork or concrete surfaces.
Place reinforcement spacers at the required intervals to ensure proper cover.
Tie the rebars together using tying wire, ensuring tight and secure connections.
Use reinforcement couplers if required for continuity and splicing of rebars.
Set up and maintain the required reinforcement clearances and levels as per design specifications.
Regularly inspect the reinforcement installation for compliance with the approved drawings, bar bending schedules, and
specifications.
Ensure sufficient clearance between rebars and formwork or neighbouring rebars.
Check for proper alignment, secure fixing, and adequate cover of the reinforcement.
Conduct non-destructive tests (NDT) if necessary to check the integrity of the reinforcement.
f. Documentation:
Maintain proper documentation of all reinforcement-related activities, including inspection reports, communication logs, and
material receiving records.
Report any deviations or issues to the relevant authorities and take corrective actions as necessary.
Safety Precautions:
Ensure all workers involved in reinforcement works are equipped with proper PPE, including safety helmets, gloves, safety shoes,
and high visibility vests.
Provide adequate training to workers on the safe handling and installation of rebars.
Erect warning signs, barriers, and safety tapes to prevent unauthorized access to the construction area.
Ensure proper storage and handling of sharp cutting tools, avoiding any potential injury.
Follow electrical safety procedures while operating concrete vibrators or working near electrical installations.
Note: This work method statement should be reviewed and approved by the project manager and relevant stakeholders before
implementation. The statement may be revised as necessary to accommodate specific project requirements, local regulations, and
industry best practices.
The health safety and environment Management plan institutes the overall mechanism for the risk management process regarding
the project. As an integral part of the planning process prior to commencement of any operational activity a suitable and sufficient
specific assessment of risk associated with the works should be taken.
8.1 Training
Quality orientation training, and HSE Pep talk training, Induction training based on site requirement is given to all
personnel to work in the site.
Job specific further Training must be provided to the working personnel
Availability of First Aiders (with ready access to first aid boxes) shall be ensured at each worksite. A first aid
box with recommended items shall be kept at the workplace for use in case of requirement.
Medical facility for the crew when in need, shall be utilizing the clinic / hospital identified for the purpose.
List of First Aider/Fire Fighting Team will be displayed.
An exclusive Emergency Vehicle will be provided, for any eventuality
