1.1. Southern Metrology Inspection Center (SMIC) recognizes that our customers and stakeholders’
success depends on timely, accurate, and impartial information. Providing such information depends
on a commitment to our customers, stakeholders, and our management system which is based on
ISO/IEC 17020:2012. Policies and procedures supporting the management system are provided
through the quality procedures and in referenced documents.
2. Purpose
2.1. The purpose of this policy is to communicate the importance of meeting customers and other
stakeholder requirements and to conform to the requirements of ISO/IEC 17020:2012 and SMIC’s
management system.
3. Scope
3.1. This policy applies to the ISO/IEC 17020:2012 Management System and all inspection activities

4.1. Southern Metrology Inspection Center has established a quality policy to govern its inspection
activities in compliance with ISO/IEC 17020:2012 requirements. This policy outlines the SMIC's
commitment to continuously improve the effectiveness of its management system and to ensure the
provision of inspection services using the highest levels of service quality.
4.2. Southern Metrology Inspection Center is committed to providing customers in a transparent,
impartial, and independent manner maintaining confidentiality and ensuring that our decisions and
results are based on objective evidence and free from any conflicts of interest.
4.3. Personnel involved in inspection activities are adequately trained, qualified, and competent to
perform their duties of promoting a culture of professionalism and responsibility.
4.4. Southern Metrology Inspection Center is committed to understanding and meeting our customer's
requirements, fostering strong relationships and continuously improving our services to exceed their
expectations.
5. Authorization
5.1. This procedure has been reviewed and determined to conform with the requirements of ISO/IEC
17020:2012, this Inspection’s accrediting body, and the requirements of the ISO/IEC 17020:2012
Management System. This procedure is authorized for use.
