SPECIFICATIONS

ELECTRICAL WORKS
I. GENERAL

1.0. General Description -The works to be done under this Divisionof


the specifications consist of the fabrication, complete in all
details, of the Electrical Works at the subject premises and all
material standards for the furnishing of all labor, materials and
appliances necessary for the complete installation of the work
specified herein and indicated on the drawings.

2.0. Drawings and Specifications

2.1. The contract drawing and specifications are complementary to


each other and any labor or materials called for by either, whether
or not called for by both, if necessary for the successful
operation of any of the particular type of equipment shall be
furnished and installed without additional cost to the Owner.

2.2. A l l exact locations and mounting height of lighting fixtures


and wiring devices shall be verified on the architectural drawings.

3.0. Intent – It is not intended that the drawings shall show every
pipe, fittings, boxes and equipment. All such items whether
specifically mentioned or not, or indicated on the drawings, shall
be furnished and installed if necessary to complete the system in
accordance with the best practice of the electrical trade and to the
satisfaction of the Architect, the Engineer and the Owner.

4.0. Site Investigation- The Contractor is required to visit the site


and to ascertain himself as to the local conditions and facilities
that may affect his work. He will be deemed to have done this before
preparing his proposal and any subsequent claims on the ground of
inadequate or inaccurate information will not be entertained.

5.0.S h o p Drawing- The Contractor shall submit to the Architect


and the Engineer,for approval, four(4) copies of all shop drawings
of details and connections not shown on the drawings or deviations
thereof but required for the work. The Contractor shall certify that
the drawings have been checked for dimensions, materials, and
erection details and conform to the intent of the drawings and
specifications.

6.0. RecordDrawings
6.1.The Contractor shall, during the progress of work,keep a record
of the actual installation from that shown on the contract drawings.
6.2. Upon completion of work,the Contractor shall submit four
(4)copies of the as- Built drawings indicating the work as actually and
finally installed.

6.3. A s –Built Record of All Materials Used –TheContractor shall


submit two(2) sets of brand
or specification of all materials used or installed in the project.
The format to be submitted shall contain the following minimum
information: Name of material/equipment installed; Specification
designation; Materials used; Manufacturer designation; Manufacturer

and Where used in the project/building.
7.0. Guarantee- The Contractor shall guarantee that the electrical
system is free from all defective workmanship and materials and will
remains of or a period of one(1) year from date of acceptance of the
work. Any defects appearing within the
Aforesaid period shall be remedied by the Contractor at his own
expense.

8.1. Permits -The owner shall be responsible for securing all the
required construction and operations permits and pay all the
necessary fees thereof. Copies of all the permits, together with
certificate of inspections shall be kept by the Owner.

8.2. Only fees for the deposit and other receipted expenses shall be
by the Owner. All other expenses shall be borne by the Contractor.

9.1. Codes and Standards- The work under this contract


is to be installed with reference to the latest requirement of the
following:

9.3. American Society for Testing and Materials(ASTM)
9.4. American National Standard Institute(ANSI)
9.5. Underwriter's Laboratories(UL)
9.6. National Electrical Code(NEC)
9.7. National Electrical Manufacturers Association(NEMA)
9.8. Manila Electric Company(Meralco)
9.9. Local Telephone Company

10.0.Submittal- The Contractor shall submit all the necessary documents


such as material's catalogues, samples, manufacturer's standard
installation instructions, operation and maintenance manuals,
equipment warranty, and all other documents as required.
