CHAPTER 1 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

1.1 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

1.1.1 GENERAL

(1) Observe compliance with all the provisions in the General Requirements as a
part of the technical specification for Architectural/Structural Work.

(2) Examine all other Divisions of the Specifications for requirements that affect
works of this Division whether or not such work is specifically mentioned in this
Division.

(3) Coordinate works with all other trades affecting or affected by works of this
section. Cooperate with such trades to assure the steady progress of all works
under the Contract.

(4) General arrangement shall be as indicated in the Drawings. Proposed


departures due to actual field conditions or other causes shall be approved by the
Consultant. The Contractor shall carefully examine the Drawings and shall be
responsible for the proper fitting of materials and equipment in each factory
without substantial alteration.

(5) Electrical system applied for this work shall be as follows:

1.1.2 SCOPE OF WORKS

The Works to be performed under this section of the Specification shall consist of
furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, tools and incidentals and performing all
operations required to complete the Electrical Work including but not limited to the
following.

1.1.3 RELATED WORKS SPECIFIED UNDER OTHER SPECIFICATIONS


(1) Excavation

the Consultant.)

1.1.4 SUBMITTALS

Unless otherwise specified under the General Requirement of Architectural Works,


submit each submittal required hereinafter.

(1) Equipment Submittal:

Before beginning work, submit for review certified literature showing ratings
and dimensions of equipment, indicating manufacturer and model of fixtures and
trim, and/or list all materials and items that are of a different manufacturer or
model other than those specified.

(2) Shop Drawings:

After review of equipment, submit for review dimensioned installation shop


drawings to scale showing details where space requirements present problems,

proposed departures from the Contract Documents due to field conditions, and
requirements for the concrete work, access panels, inserts in slabs and openings
in structure.

(3) As-built Drawings:

Provide and maintain at the site a complete set of Drawings for the purpose of
recording "as-built information". Within 1 (one) month after completion of the
work, make the as-built drawings based on the above and submit prints to the
Consultant.

(4) Catalogues:

1) Catalogues shall be prepared and submitted in accordance with the request


of the Consultant.

2) Catalogues shall be approved by the Consultant.

(5) Operation and Maintenance Manuals:

Furnish operations and maintenance manuals for all equipment, bound between
hard covers, including the manufacturer's name, model and serial number,
control diagrams and source of service and replacement parts.

When using published manuals covering several equipment items or several


model options, identify which data and instructions apply to the equipment
furnished for this Project.

Submit the complete sets of manuals for review by the Consultant prior to final
submission thereof to the Employer.

(6) Test and Commissioning Report

Submit the field reports of illumination level, insulation resistance value, and
equipment tests for acceptance in accordance with the Contract Drawings and
Specification requirements before the final inspection after each test.

(7) Manufacturer's Data

Furnish the manufacturer's data for materials and equipment, as required by the
Consultant.

Manufacturer's data shall include manufacturer's descriptive literature,
photographs, drawings, charts, performance and characteristics curves. Identify
the data with name of manufacturer, trade name, catalogue or model number,
nameplate, capacity, size and layout dimensions.

(8) Manufacturer's List

1) Furnish equipment list to the Consultant within 2 (two) weeks after notice
a complete descriptive list of manufactured equipment proposed for the
Work.

2) Lists shall include all equipment shown in the Drawings or specified


herein.

1.1.5 STANDARD

1.1.6 GUARANTEE

(1) Attention shall be directed to provisions of the Contract regarding guarantees


and warranties for the work under this contract.

(2) Manufacturers shall provide their standard guarantees for the work under this
division. However, such guarantees shall be in addition to and not in lieu of all
other liabilities which the manufacturer and the contractor must meet.

(3) The Contractor shall guarantee that all elements of the systems are of sufficient
capacity to meet the specified performance requirements as set forth herein or as
indicated.

(4) For materials and/or equipment for which the effective guarantee term counting
from the manufacturing date will be expired and will not be capable of covering
the specified guarantee term after the completion of the Project, the Contractor
shall have full responsibility on behalf of the manufacturer to satisfy the required
guarantee period as specified in the Specifications with the Contractor's letter.

1.1.7 HANDLING AND STORAGE

Materials, equipment and all products shall be handled and stored carefully to ensure
completed installation without any defect.

Unloading, stacking, moving and storing of material shall be strictly in accordance


with the manufacturer's recommendations.

Before installation, all materials shall be inspected by the Contractor for defects.

Materials found to be defective before or after installation shall be repaired to the


satisfaction of the Consultant or shall be replaced with new material.

Repair or replacement shall be accomplished without additional expenses to the


Employer.

1.2 PRODUCTS

1.2.1 GENERAL

The Consultant shall approve all products, materials and equipment.

(1) Materials and Equipment:

1) Materials and equipment shall be as specified in the Drawings and/or the


Specifications and suitable for the service intended.

2) Materials and equipment shall be unused except those used for testing.

3) Equipment to be used shall be backed up by sufficient on-site service and

shall be taken care with effective service activities.

(2) Standard Products

1) Materials and equipment shall be of general purpose and standard products.

2) Unless otherwise approved by the Consultant, materials and equipment


shall have a performance of a satisfactory operation in use for at least 5
years before the Tender Date and shall be the product which is kept in
current continuous production.

(3) Capacity

The capacity of equipment shall not be less than that indicated in the Drawings
and/or specified in the Specifications.

(4) Conform to the requirements of an independent testing laboratory approved by


the Consultant.

(5) In lieu of a formal certificate for equipment and/or materials issued by the
testing laboratory, the alternative to submit the following documents shall be
applicable;

1) Catalogue Cuts
2) Technical Data
3) Manufacturer's testing performance data

These shall be adequate for reserving approval by the Consultant under the
responsibility of the manufacturers.

1.3 EXECUTION

1.3.1 WORKMANSHIP

(1) The entire work provided in this specification shall be constructed and finished
in every respect in a workman-like and substantial manner.

It is not intended that the Drawings shall show every pipe, fitting and appliance,
but the Contractor shall furnish and install all such parts as may be necessary to

complete the systems in accordance with the best trade practice and to the
satisfaction of the Consultant.

(2) Coordinate with all other trades regarding the shape, size and position of all
openings required for apparatus prior to the work so that all openings may be
built in advance. Furnish and install all sleeves, supports, etc. hereinafter
specified or required.

(3) Obtain detailed information from manufacturers of apparatus as to the proper


method of installing and connecting same. Obtain all information from other
trades which may be necessary to facilitate the work and to complete the whole
project.

1.3.2 PAINTING

(1) Except as otherwise specified, all equipment and materials furnished under this
Division shall have a standard factory applied finish.

(2) All practical precautions shall be taken to prevent, scratches and damage during
shipment, storage and construction. Touch-up shall be provided where
necessary to repair any scratches.

(3) All nameplates bearing descriptive data and all non-ferrous surfaces of materials
and equipment provided under this Division shall be left un-painted and clean.

(4) All iron surfaces of conduit, equipment, materials, hangers and supports installed
under this division shall be painted with two coats of approved rust resistant
primer and finish painting as part of the work of this division. Painting shall be
unnecessary for pipes in concealed areas.

(5) All painting and sizing done under this division shall conform to applicable
quality control requirements set forth under the division in respect of painting.

1.3.3 SETTING OF EQUIPMENT

(1) The setting of equipment shall be carefully coordinated with the work and
requirements of other trades involved to ensure compatibility and to avoid
conflicts.

(2) The equipment which is base mounted on concrete or masonry slabs, pads and
piers, or mounted on stands, gratings, platforms, or other, shall not be set in any
manner, except on the finished and permanent support.

1.3.4 TESTS AND INSPECTIONS

(1) The Contractor shall carry out the following tests and inspections at each phase
of construction to confirm that the requirements for the quality, capacity,
performance and other items indicated on the Drawings and specified herein
with regard to the materials, goods and workmanship are satisfactory. The
Contractor shall record the results of each test and inspection, and shall submit
them to the Consultant.

1) Before installation

Materials; Checking of Standards and condition of materials.


Equipment; Checking of shop drawings and manufacturer's
instructions.

2) During installation

Materials; Inspections of delivered materials


Equipment; Inspections at the project site.
Installation; Tests and inspections shall be as described hereinafter.

3) Upon Completion

Test and inspection of appearance, function, performance and trial run.

(2) If as a result of such test and inspection, the materials, equipment and
workmanship are judged unsatisfactory or unacceptable, they shall be made good
to the Consultant's satisfaction.

(3) The contractor shall, in advance, consult with the consultant as to the program,
schedule and items of test and inspection to comply with the Consultant's
instructions.

1.3.5 OPENING

All openings in partitions, walls or slabs required for the work of this division, are
subject to the approval of the Consultant. Openings shall be finished in accordance
with the requirements of the related specifications.

1.3.6 CUTTING AND PATCHING

(1) All cutting and patching incidental to and required for the proper installation of
the work to be performed under this division. No structural member shall be
cut without specific approval of the Consultant.

(2) Perform all patching in full accordance with those divisions and sections
applying to the various trades, materials, methods, workmanship and finishes
involved. Damaged surfaces shall be restored to their original or better
condition.

(3) Holes may not be cut through concrete structural members.

1.3.7 MISCELLANEOUS IRON AND STEEL

(1) Furnish and install all steel supports and hangers as shown on the Drawings or
required to support pipe, equipment and materials. Shop drawings of the
proposed work shall be submitted.

(2) All works shall be cut, assembled, welded and finished by skilled workers.
Welds shall be ground smooth. Stands, brackets, and frameworks shall be
properly sized and strongly constructed.

(3) All shop-fabricated iron and steel work shall be cleaned and dried and given a
shop coat of rust inhibitive paint on all surfaces and in all openings and crevices.

1.3.8 WELDING

(1) Experienced welders shall perform all welding performed under this division in
a neat and substantial manner. Only persons who are currently qualified in
accordance with Japan Welder Regulation or equivalent shall perform all
welding on piping, pressure vessels, and steel materials.

(2) All pipe welding shall be oxy-acetylene or electric arc. High test welding rods
suitable for the material to be welded shall be used throughout. All special
fittings shall be carefully laid out and joints shall be accurately matched at
intersections. Care shall be exercised to prevent the occurrence of protruded
weld metal into the pipe. All welds shall be of sound metal free from laps, cold
shuts, gas pockets, oxide inclusions and similar defects.

(3) All necessary precautions shall be taken to prevent fire or other damage
occurring as a result of welding operations.

1.3.9 ANCHORAGE

(1) Furnish and install all arrangements required for controlling expansion,
contraction and movement of pipe lines and equipment installed under this
section.

(2) Anchors shall be of approved design, secured to the building in an approved


manner and sufficiently substantial to overcome the force of expansion of the
piping systems.

(3) Anchors shall be located so as to take maximum advantage of all points where
expansion and contraction may be taken up.

1.3.10 CLEANING AND PROTECTION

(1) Equipment and piping shall be blown out under pressure and cleaned of foreign
material, through temporary connections where necessary, before the system is
placed in service. Precautions shall be taken to prevent foreign material from
getting into the equipment and piping during construction. The supplier of
chemicals shall recommend and furnish chemicals for the purpose of cleaning
and blowing out.

(2) Protection of finish:

Fully protect all finish of the materials and equipment against damage from
whatever cause during the progress of the work and until the final acceptance.
Cover all materials and equipment in storage and during construction to protect
finished surfaces from damage or flaw and keep all moving parts perfectly clean
and dry. Clean the surfaces of all equipment and fixtures upon completion of
the work.

(3) Surfaces of all equipment and raceways shall be cleaned upon completion of the
work.

1.3.11 UNDERGROUND WIRING AND PROTECTION

Where special conditions exist, such as the need for reinforcement for wiring and the
like where vehicles may pass over the wiring lines, the Contractor shall furnish and

install reinforcement works at such areas or install the wire at locations deeper than
1.2 meters from the finished surface.

1.3.12 HANGERS AND SUPPORTS

(1) All required hangers, supports, clamps, sleeves, etc., required for the installation
of the electrical work are included as a part of the work of this section.

(2) All materials for required hangers, supports, clamps, sleeves, etc. shall be
electro-galvanized steel or painted.

(3) All horizontal runs of raceways and cable trays shall be properly grouped and
hung to true alignment using substantial and appropriate hangers, clamps,
conduit straps, etc. Hanger and support locations shall be coordinated with the
work of other trades to avoid conflicts. Hangers and supports shall be placed at
intervals in accordance with the requirements of Japanese Standards or
equivalent. Supporting rods shall be threaded only on ends, with allowance for
adjustment, or shall be all threaded in areas where required to suit a particular
job condition or application.

(4) Wire and straphangers will not be permitted. Metal clips or straps using toggle
bolts or lead expansion sleeves on masonry and wood screws on woodwork shall
secure conduits and fittings. Where fastened to bar joints, bulb-tees and/or
flange beams, use wedge hangers, tap clips and flange clips.

(5) Support conductors in vertical raceways and cable tray in accordance with the
requirements of Japanese Standards or equivalent.

(6) Painting shall make any cutting edge good with anti-corrosive paint.

1.3.13 WIRING AND ELEMENTARY DIAGRAMS

Wiring and elementary diagrams for equipment as shown on the Drawings are based
on the product of the specified equipment's manufacturer, and are shown for
convenience to aid in estimating the extent of the work involved.

The equipment actually installed shall be wired and connected in accordance with the
equipment manufacturer's recommendations and shall conform to details in approved
wiring diagrams to be furnished by the equipment's manufacturer.

All equipment so connected shall be made to operate in a safe, proper and efficient
manner. Note that control circuitry is not necessarily shown completely on the
Drawings but shall be furnished by the Contractor and installed in conduits between
the points and devices indicated on the diagrams.

1.3.14 DESIGNATION OF EQUIPMENT

Use laminated nameplates on the exterior surfaces of all electrical apparatus, including
switchboards, panel boards, switch boxes, telephone cabinets and other equipment as
indicated. Those laminated nameplates shall be of black and white bakelite or
similar material, machine engraved through the black layer to expose the white layer,
with lettering.

Manufacturer's standard nameplates will be acceptable, if compatible with those used


throughout the Project, and if approved by the Consultant.

2.1 GENERAL

2.1.1 SCOPE OF WORK

(1) Observe compliance with all the provisions of the general requirements in this
division as a part of this Chapter.

complete the wire and cable work.

2.3 EXECUTION

2.3.1 COLOR CODING

(1) Color coding of wire shall be in accordance with the requirements of the NNBC,
IS,IEC,BS, JIS, JEM or local ordinances and/or regulations.

(2) Provide for all service, feeder, branch, control and signaling circuit conductors.
Color shall be green for grounding conductors, and black for neutrals. The color
of the ungrounded conductors in different voltage system shall be as follows:

a. 230 volt, 1-phase: Phase A / B / C- Red / Yellow / Blue


Phase B - Black

b. 400 volt, 3-phase: Phase A - Red


Phase B - Yellow
Phase C - Blue
Phase N - Black

2.3.2 ACCESSORIES

(1) Cable Supports in Risers:

Clamping device with insulation wedges and grips.

2.3.3 WIRING

before connecting.

2) Conductors and cables shall be joined so as not to decrease their


mechanical strength by more than 20 percent.

3) No connection shall be made within conduit or wiring duct.

4) Conductors and cables shall be connected by means of suitable connector


fittings such as compression type connectors.

5) Where any connections occur, an adhesive vinyl tape shall be wrapped


around the joint.

1) The structure of the earth terminal board shall be manufactured to prevent


dust, insects, etc., from penetrating or getting inside.

2) The cabinet for the earth terminal board shall be fabricated of sheet steel
with a thickness of 1.6mm or more.

(3) Earth terminal:

1) The quantity of earth terminal shall be installed as noted or required by the


drawings.

2) The earth terminal blocks shall be isolated from the panel.

3) Provide the terminations as matched the grounding wire conductors.

5.3 EXECUTION

5.3.1 INSTALLATION

(1) Conductors, connections, fittings, etc. shall not be installed in cinder fill or
covered with soil containing cinders or other corrosive materials.

(2) Grounding electrode or conductor shall be isolated more than 1 meter from
others and shall be isolated more than 2 meters from lightning rod.

(3) Grounding electrode shall be installed in a damp but not corrosive place deeper
than 0.8 m from the ground surface.

(4) Rod support shall be rigidly installed in a manner to resist wind pressure and
provide water tightness.

(5) Conductor shall be isolated 1 meter or more from any power line or gas pipe.

(6) Where section area of structural steel member is more than 300 cm2, grounding
conductor may be omitted, but should be confirmed with the Consultant.

resistance meter.

(2) Grounding resistance values shall be not more than 10 OHM.

CHAPTER 6 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

6.1 GENERAL

6.1.1 GENERAL

Electrical system applied for building services from the main distribution board
located at the electrical room to the lighting panel boards and the power control panels
shown on the Drawings shall be as follows:

3 Phase 4 Wire System:

This system shall be the most widely used to serve a combination of power and
lighting loads. The voltage shall be 400V/230V. The frequency shall be 50Hz.

3 Phase 3 Wire System:

This system shall be the used to serve power loads. The voltage shall be 400V. The
frequency shall be 50Hz.

6.1.2 POWER CIRCUIT

(1) GENERAL

Power circuit shall be installed at the locations indicated on the Drawings so as


to supply electricity to air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing equipment, etc.

(2) ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:

1) 3 Phase, 4 Wire System, the voltage shall be 400/230V.

2) 3 Phase, 3 Wire System, the voltage shall be 400V.

3) The frequency shall be 50Hz.

18.2 PRODUCTS

18.2.1 EQUIPMENT

Equipment for the fire alarm system shall be integrated panels, and accessories.
Details of the equipment are shown on the Drawings.

Test all functions and operations for all equipment and devices under normal
operating conditions.

CHAPTER 19 PUBLIC ADDRESS SYSTEM

19.1 GENERAL

19.1.1 SCOPE OF WORK

(1) Observe compliance with all the provisions in the General Requirements of this
division as a part of this section.

(2) Supply, deliver and install all necessary equipment consisting of public address
system and devices, and all the wiring interconnections as shown or implied in
the Drawings accompanying these specifications.

(3) All equipment and devices shall be furnished complete with terminals, internal
wiring and connectors as applicable and required for a complete and
workmanlike installation.

(4) Installation of miscellaneous items and appurtenances shown and/or required to


complete the public address system.

(5) Contractor shall provide communication cable with conduit pipe up to the
interface terminal box that is to be installed on the existing building wall,
including supply of interface terminal box.

19.2 PRODUCTS

19.2.1 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

(1) The public address system shall consist of the following systems:

Supply and install of speakers and required accessories.

(2) The equipment and devices shall be designed and constructed to a recognized
standard of the highest order for maximum reliability and availability for
continuous operational use and for easy servicing and maintenance.

(3) The speaker installation shall be divided into zones and areas as shown on the
Drawings and as requested by the Consultant.

(4) The equipment shall be suitable for operation on 230V, 50 Hz power supply and
shall be protected from damage as a result of transient surges on the supply.

19.2.2 AMPLIFIER

All equipment shall use solid state technique and no electromagnetically


operated contacts shall be used in the speech path. The use of reed contacts or sealed
relays may be permitted for the control circuit.

(1) Amplifier for Paging;

The amplifier shall be a wall mounted type and shall be provided with, but not
limited to, the following equipment and devices;

1) Power Amplifier : 120W

2) Zone Selector : 10 lines

3) Input signal circuit shall be provided but not limited to the following:

a) Microphone : -

b) Auxiliary Jack : 3

19.2.3 SPEAKERS

(1) General

1) Speakers shall be provided with tapped double wound transformers,


suitable for operation on 230V-RMS distribution. Tapping shall be used
for presetting sound power levels.

2) Speakers shall be of a type and shall have ratings as specified herein.

3) All speakers shall be provided with connectors to facilitate replacement


and servicing.

(2) Speaker - Ceiling Mounted Type

1) Shape: 230†mm in Diameter

CHAPTER 20 LIGHTNING PROTECTION

20.1 GENERAL

20.1.1 SCOPE OF WORK

(1) Observe compliance with all the provisions in the General Requirements of this
division as a part of this section.
(2) Lightning rod.

(3) Lightning Conductor.

(3) Ring Grounding Electrode.

(4) Installation of miscellaneous items and appurtenances shown and/or required to


complete the lightning system.

(5) The Consultant shall approve all drawings.

20.2 PRODUCTS

20.2.1 CONDUCTORS

(1) Lightning Rod: Shall be as shown in the drawing and as directed and approved
by the Consultant.

(2) Grounding conductors shall be bare medium-drawn copper wire, 60 sq mm


minimum sizes unless otherwise indicated or specified.

(3) The piping for the Conductor shall be a Conduit penetrating through the concrete
columns and slabs.

20.3 EXECUTION

20.3.1 INSTALLATION

Do not install materials, conductor, fitting, copper plate in cinder fill or covered with
soil containing cinders or other corrosive materials.

20.3.2 TESTS

(1) Measure grounding resistance by grounding resistance meter.

(2) Total grounding resistance value shall not exceed 10 ohms.

CHAPTER 21 ACCESSORIES

21.1 GENERAL

21.1.1 SCOPE OF WORK

Supply, deliver and store all the spare parts as listed in the Spare Parts List below.

21.1.2 SUBMITTALS:

Submit spare parts list containing:

(1) Name and quantity of materials and devices


(2) Related Section Number of the Specification
(3) Manufacturer's name, address and telephone number

21.2 PRODUCTS

21.2.1 GENERAL

All equipment, devices and/or materials shall be provided with required quantity of
spare parts as stated below.

21.2.2 SPARE PARTS LIST

• (Any kind of) Lamp Quantity: 10% or at least 1 of Design Quantity

Note: If there are standard spare parts and tools which are left out or missing from
the list or the specifications, they are to be added and notified to the Consultant
for approval. All necessary standard spare parts and tools required by the
Consultant.
