1 Course Name: Introduction to Networking VE1
Number:

Course Code: CT043-3-1 Effective Date: 01 Mar 2023

Course Classification: Major (Core)

This module is mapped to CCNA – Introduction to Networks. It is an introductory module to the architecture, structure, functions, components, and models of the internet. It describes the use of OSI and
TCP layered models to examine the nature and roles of protocols and services at the applications, network, data link, and physical layers. It also covers the principles and structure of IP addressing and the
fundamentals of Ethernet concepts, media, and operations. Students are also going to build a simple LAN topology by applying basic principles of medium, performing basic configurations of network
2 Synopsis:
devices (including routers & switches) and implementing IP addressing schemes.
