• Section A has 20 MCQs carrying 1 mark each
• Section B has 5 questions carrying 02 marks each.

• Section E has 3 case based integrated units of assessment (04 marks each) with subparts
of the values of 1, 1 and 2 marks respectively.

30. If a point 𝐶, lies between two points 𝐴 & 𝐵, such that 𝐴𝐶 = 𝐵𝐶, then prove that 𝐴𝐶 =

Case study-based questions. All questions are compulsory.

36. Class IX students of a school in Moti Nagar, Delhi have been allotted a rectangular plot
of land, adjacent to their school, for gardening activity. Saplings of Gulmohar are planted
on the boundary at a distance of 1 𝑚 from each other. There is a triangular grassy lawn in
the plot as shown in the figure. The students are to sow seeds of flowering plants on the
remaining area of the plot. Considering A as origin, AD along the 𝑥-axis and AB along
𝑦-axis.

Based on the above information, answer the following questions: (1+1+2) marks
(i) What are the coordinates of 𝑅 ?
(ii) What is the difference of abscissa of A and abscissa of D?
(iii) What are the coordinates of P, if D is taken as the origin, DA along negative
direction of 𝑥-axis and DC along 𝑦-axis?

What are the coordinates of mirror images of the P, R, Q and B if the mirror is
placed along 𝑥-axis?

37. Shown below is the picture of tree A that had broken in a storm and its broken part is
leaning on two neighbouring trees B and C.
The broken part of tree A leans on the major stem of the tree B at an angle of 𝑝 = 54°.
The diagram of the picture is drawn alongside showing angles 𝑥, 𝑦, 𝑧 and 𝑤 being formed
and the marked points 𝑃, 𝑄, 𝑅, 𝑆, 𝑇, 𝑈 and 𝑉.

38. To beautify parks in a city, municipal corporation decided to make triangular flower beds
in parks as shown in the figure. The dimensions of a triangular flower bed are 75 𝑚 ×
80 𝑚 × 85 𝑚.

Based on the given information answer the following questions: (1+1+2) marks
(i) Find the semiperimeter of the flower bed?
(ii) Write the area of an isosceles triangle with base ′𝑎′ and equal sides ′𝑏 ′ .
(iii) If each triangular bed is an equilateral triangle of side 60 𝑚 then find its area?
OR
Find the area of each triangular bed if it is in the form of an isosceles triangle with
base 60 𝑚 and equal sides of length 40 𝑚 each?
