Office 365 Unified Multi-Factor Setup Guide

Office 365 MFA requires a mobile app from the Google Play Store (Android) or App Store
(Apple). This process will require that you download and install the Microsoft Authenticator
app.

MFA Authenticator App only receives push notifications from Office/Microsoft 365 to approve
logins and no personal data is ever accessed or scanned aside from device make and model.

1) Proceed to https://portal.office.com sign-in

2) The following pop-up requires you to go through MFA Setup – Click Next
You will not be able to log in until you have set up MFA

3) If you haven’t installed the Microsoft Authenticator App, please do so - Click Next

4) You will receive a pop-up in the mobile app for “personal” or “Work or School”
Select “Work or School” – Click Next on Computer Screen

5) On the mobile app select Scan QR and scan the QR code on your computer screen

6) You will receive an “Approve” or “Deny” prompt on your mobile app – this is a test to
make sure the setup is working. Please push “Approve”

7) Once you receive the below screen window your MFA setup is completed
