‘within this State and Perish at: 4324 S, Sherwood Forest Blvd, Beton Rouge, Lousiana 70816 in East
Baton Rouge Parish andthe jurisdiction of the 19th Judicial District Court, contrary tothe form ofthe
statutes ofthe State of Louisiana in such case made and provided, and against the peace and dignity ofthe
same, in thatthe following did ooeur:
To wit: On September 30, 2024, at approximately 1220 hous, a Baton Rouge Uniform Patrol Officer
conducted a traffic stop in the 4300 block of N Sherwood Forest Blvd Upon the officer giving
commands tothe driver to exit, he did not comply. The driver backed into the oficer’s marked BRPD unit
and fled the scene, This incident is located within the city limits of Baton Rouge, the parish of East Baton
Rouge, and the state of Louisiana,
Detetives with the Major Assaults Division were assigned this case for follow-up investigation. Upon
interviewing the offcervctimy, he reported that he received notifications fom a license plate
reader (LPR) that stolen vehicle was inthe area on N. Sherwood Forest Blvd. The officer reported that
the LPR described the stolen vehicle asa blak Lincoln MKZ vehicle bearing LA license plate
#320FCD. The officer stated that he observed the stolen vehicle traveling southbound in the 4300 block of
N. Sherwood Forest Blvd, and he initiated a traffic stop by activating te lights and sirens on his marked
BRPD unit. The officer stated thatthe vehicle's driver complied and pulled into the parking lt of 4324S.
Sherwood Forest Blvd, The officer stated that once the vehicle topped, he exited his marked BRPD unit

the command to exit the vehicle. The officer reported that he went to the rear of his unt to prepare for a
tactical approach, While doing so, the driver ofthe stolen vehicle intentionally backed into his unit as it
‘vas parked behind it, damaging the front of the unit. The driver would then put the vehicle in drive and
drive between the pathway oftwo buildings. The officer entered his unit and began searching forthe
Vehicle, but he only located the vehicle unoccupied. During the course of the investigation, the driver of
the vehicle was later identified as the Defendant, Teryon Thomas
‘The officer was presented with a six-person line-up containing a photo ofthe Defendant. The officer
positively idemified the Defendant asthe person driving a stolen vehicle, who struck his marked unit as
hve stood behing it, and who resisted an ast.
‘Upon review of the officer's body-wor camera and in-car camer, the footage coincided with his
statement,
Probable cause and grounds for belief are based onthe office’ identification ofthe Defendant, the
cfc’ body- wor camera footage, the officer’ in-ar camer footage, and police observation.
