Ch-04: Circular Motion

Lect-02
Today’s Goal

Dynamics of
Circular Motion
Centripetal Force(Fc)
1. When a particle moves in circular path, a centripetal
acceleration is present.

2. This centripetal acceleration(𝒂𝒄)is directed along the

radius towards the centre of circle.

3. As there can be no acceleration without a Force. A

centripetal Force acts on particle along the radius
towards the centre of circle.
Work done by Centripetal Force(Fc)

b) No acceleration is produced in it.
c) Its velocity remains constant
d) No force acts on it.
Centripetal Force is NOT a new kind of Force.
