7. Objectives:

viii. General engineering recommendations on dewatering schemes, seismic site

8. Detailed Scope of Work

 Drilling 01 No. borehole maximum 10-m deep below existing grade;


 Performing 01 No. cone penetration tests to a maximum depth of max.
10-m or first practical refusal, whichever is shallower;
 Excavating 01 No. test pits to maximum 1.5-m depth or rock/ground water
whichever is shallower;
 Performing 01 No. electrical resistivity tests;
 Performing 01 No. thermal resistivity tests;
 Performing 01 No. Plate Load Tests at 0.5-m depth below depth below existing grade;
 Performing 01 No. Field CBR tests in at existing grade;
 Performing laboratory tests on selected soil samples recovered from the
boreholes to determine pertinent engineering, classification, and chemical
properties;
 Analysing the field and laboratory data to develop foundation and
earthworks design, construction and protection recommendations
 Analysing Soil and Ground water properties for grain size distribution, unit
weight, moisture content and relative density from SPT tests in accordance
with ASTM D 422
 Analysing soil for Coefficient of friction and adhesion values between soil
and concrete, compressibility and modulus of elasticity of soil, cohesion and
angle of internal friction
 Chemical analysis and other properties of soil and groundwater as detailed
below
1. PH value, in accordance with ASTM D 4972
2. Electrical conductivity (Laboratory)
3. Chloride ion concentration in accordance with ASTM D 512
4. Sulphate ion concentration in accordance with ASTM D 516
5. Electrical resistivity of soil (Field determination)
6. Yearly average moisture content of soil
7. Thermal resistivity of soil in accordance with ASTM D 5334
8. Permeability of soil (Field and Laboratory)
9. Dynamic properties of soil including Young modulus
 Recommend concrete requirements like type of cement, w/c ratio, concrete
grade also coatings and other protective measures
 Performing Engineering calculations for ultimate and net allowable bearing
capacity of soil settlements, pile capacities and slope stability
