Create Part
– Right click on Parts in tree
– Select Create Part
– Use icon to select specific
entities (faces / edges/

vertices)) and create part
p of
those entities.
EM
– Define IN, OUT, ELBOW and
CYL parts in geometry.

Blocking Strategy
– In this Elbow geometry there is an
cylindrical hole through the
geometry.
– Such Elbow can not be captured
well with single Ogrid through out
.ir
the elbow pipe
pipe. This is because grid
EM
lines need to be align with hole
– To resolve this we will be putting L-
shaped ogrid initially to capture
D
A cylindrical hole.
– Then we create final ogrid through
C
out the elbow pipe which align well
with elbow surface.
B i bl
Begin blocking
ki
– Select Blocking > Create Block > Initialize
#1 Blocks
– Change Type to 3D Bounding Box
– Click Apply
– This creates one block which encloses the entire
.ir
geometry
– Curves automatically change color (colored
EM
#2 separately instead of by part) to allow you to see
where the ends of curves are

Splitting blocks
– Select Split Block > Split Block
#1 • Left click on the edge to split
• The new edge will be normal
to the edge that you select
• Hold left mouse button and

location
• Middle mouse to complete or

Delete Bl k
#1
– Select Delete Block
– Select bottom left corner block as
shown
– Apply or middle mouse
#2
– This doesn’t actually delete the blocks.
.ir
It moves them to the part, VORFN, so
they can be used again, if desired
EM
– To actually delete the blocks, select
Delete permanently
D
A – By default VORFN part is always disable
C
Associate Edges
– Select Associate > Associate Edge to Curve
#1
– Enable Project vertices
• This will automatically project vertices on
associated curves after completion on
operation.
.ir
#2 – Select edges and associate to curves
