Brief Rationale of The Event
Meanwhile, the City Fisheries and Aquatic Resource Management Council (CFARMC)
composition and functions are due to Executive Order No. 240. Said EO prescribes
institutionalizing the significant role of the local fisherfolks and other resource users in the
community-based planning and implementation of policies and programs for the management,
conservation, development, and protection of fisheries and aquatic resources of the municipal
waters.
As a wellspring for innovation and development, the council has become a key stakeholder
in the implementation of policies and programs that seek to highlight and address the different
developmental issues surrounding their communities.
Objectives:
1. Educate agriculture and fisheries council leaders about the parliamentary procedure
and the importance of council leaders’ participation in policy making.
2. Provide a platform for agriculture and fisheries council leaders to discuss important
developmental issues affecting their sector.
3. Equip agriculture and fisheries council leaders with the competencies required in
crafting concrete local policies that will address the different issues affecting the
agriculture and fisheries sector and their communities.
4. Strengthen collaboration between the agriculture and fisheries council and other local
multi-sectoral stakeholders to discuss and promote innovative policies that will cater
existing policy gaps in agriculture and fisheries development.
