1.0 PURPOSE

The purpose of this procedure is to establish the procedural steps to be followed in implementing Field
Engineering changes that may arise during the course of project/fabrication.

2.0 SCOPE

This procedure is applicable to the activities and/or requirements described above for Valve Stations,
Scraper Traps & Facilities Package.

5.0 RESPONSIBILITIES

 Project Manager shall be responsible to ensure that the work described hereunder is executed in
accordance with all the contract requirements including this special process procedure.

 Project QA/QC Manager shall be responsible to monitor the control and distributions of the approved
CRF are implemented in accordance with the established document control system.

 Construction Supervisors GCC / Originators shall be responsible to initiate corrections on engineering

designs and documents thru CRF and ensures that it is logged in the system with complete
attachments and red marked drawings.

 Discipline Engineer/Construction Manager shall be responsible to check all initiated CRF that no
drawbacks are present with the Constructability requirements. Discipline Engineer shall also be
responsible to coordinate and inform other contractor or with other BI’s (Packages) for applicable
changes in the interface meetings. The distribution and implementation of CRF to construction
subcontractors will be by the Discipline Engineers

 Discipline Engineer (GCC) with coordination of JZ shall be responsible to review and approve all fields
initiated CRF, For changes involving vendors, Project Site office team shall coordinate with vendor to
obtain their concurrence.

6.0 CHANGE REQUEST FORM (CRF)

Field Engineering changes are generally required in circumstances where changes from the IFC are
required during the execution stage of a Project/Fabrication

Typical Examples may include:

a) Where there is conflict at site and routing/elevation changes are required.

b) Where information provided on the IFC drawing which would create a problem in manufacture,
erection or installation

c) Where requirements as per standard is not addressed in the IFC requiring changes in the field.

a) Where the materials as specified in IFC are unavailable and require the use of alternate materials
should be approved by concerned Saudi Aramco Department.

Construction Supervisor/Originators using a sample form shall prepare CRF.

This procedure shall not be accounted to approve any changes degrading from initial approved design
or any change subjected to have violation of applicable standards I codes.

7.0 PROCEDURAL STEPS FOR CRF

Step- I Correction of these engineering and design documents shall be initiated by Construction
Supervisor/Originator GCC as per actual site condition. Discipline Engineer/Construction Manager
shall review/comment on the changes based on the constructability requirements.

Step-2 JZ shall review and approve the CRF based on engineering and design documents changes in
accordance to the applicable Standards & Procedures.

Step-3 Discipline Engineer after collaboration with JZ, shall float CRF to SAPMT for review/approval.

Step-4 Once SAPMT shall approve the CRF, it shall be distributed for implementation in accordance
with the established document control system and shall be incorporated in "As-Built" Project
Specification.

8.0 RED LINE MARKED DRAWING / DOCUMENTS THROUGH CRF

Modifications of engineering drawing and design document through CRF will be carried out as follows:

 The drawing and design document will be red-line mark-up by the assigned construction
supervisor, showing the proposed changes.

 The Construction Manager/Discipline Engineer will sign on the red line marked drawing for
approval.

 The modified drawing will be shared to SAPMT for information only and will be distributed to
the related Teams in the Field Office.

 Change Request Form Log Sheet and the red-line marked Drawing document shall be
maintained through log sheet by Project Document Controller.

 Drawing Modifications as red line marked at site shall be incorporated into the next revised
drawing when required.

 Red line marked drawing through CRF shall have validity equivalent to IFC drawing. It can be
used where required, i.e. procurement, construction, inspection work etc.

 In such circumstances the details of this problem shall be recorded on a Technical Query,
however, Technical Query shall not be substituted for any standard violation.

 The concerned Discipline Engineers reviews and countersigns Technical Queries. The
document controller records the technical queries on the TQ register.

9.0 CRF NUMBERING

When the Discipline Engineer issues the CRF to JZ (Jacobs Zate) for approval, the
Project document controller shall number the CRF and enter the "CRF No." on the form. The
Change No. is a 3-digit sequential number proceeded by Initials of the Discipline Engineer
as below.
