Symbol Description
"DANGER" indicates that there is a high potential danger which, if not
avoided, will lead to serious accidents such as personal injury or death.
• Set up safety warning signs or belts near the energy storage system cabin.
• During maintenance, be sure to set up warning signs of "maintenance in progress" and "do not
operate"
• After maintenance or overhaul, etc., be sure to pull out the door key and keep it in a safe place.
⚫ During the whole process of maintenance, overhaul or other operations on the energy storage
system cabin, it is necessary to ensure that the escape channel is completely unobstructed.
⚫ Make sure that the energy storage system compartment cannot be accidentally re-energized.
⚫ Use a multimeter to ensure that the interior of the battery compartment is completely de-
energized.
⚫ Make the necessary ground and short-circuit connections.
⚫ Use insulating cloth to cover the parts that may be live near the operating part.
⚫ During the whole process of maintenance and overhaul, it is necessary to ensure that the escape
channel is completely unblocked.
⚫ When performing maintenance, repair and other operations, relevant personnel should take
appropriate protective measures as needed, such as wearing anti-noise earplugs, insulating shoes,
and anti-scalding gloves.
⚫ The installation site of the energy storage system cabin is usually far away from the urban area, and
corresponding emergency rescue facilities should be prepared upon the needs so that they can be
used when needed.
⚫ Take all necessary auxiliary measures to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.
The protection and monitoring functions of the battery system are realized by the battery
management system (BMS). The BMS system of the battery system is managed in three levels,
namely tray BMU, MBMS, and BAMS. The main functions of each level of BMS are as follows:
➢ BMU (fixed in the battery pack): Monitors the voltage, temperature of the single cell and the total
voltage of a single tray and transmits the above information to the upper-level BMS in real time
through the CAN protocol, which can control the voltage balance of the single cell.
➢ MBMS (rack level, built in the high-voltage box): Detect the total voltage and total current of the
entire battery rack, and transmit the above information to the upper-level BMS in real time
through the CAN protocol. It can display the capacity and health status of the battery during
charging and discharging. Controls relay switches and the voltage balance of cluster-level units.
➢ BAMS (system level): Collects lower-level MBMS information and can predict the remaining
battery capacity and health status in real time. Communicate with host and external systems
through CAN or Modbus-TCP/IP.
➢ Combiner function: There are 9 clusters of batteries in the energy storage battery compartment
products. After being combined in parallel, the electrical components are connected to the PCS
through isolating switches and fuses to protect the electrical components. The isolating switches
and fuses are set in the combiner box to realize the control and protection of the battery system.
➢ Control function: The Level 3 BMS is set in the combiner box. The Level 3 BMS transmits battery
information to the first and second level BMS through CAN communication, communicates with
the PCS and other external systems through RS485, and communicates with the switch and EMS
through Ethernet. Fire protection and air conditioners transmit information to the Level 3 BMS
through RS485, and the Level 3 BMS will display battery-related information through the display
screen.
➢ Power distribution function: The mains distribute power to the cabin air conditioners, lighting,
UPS and other electrical equipment through the confluence control cabinet. Each equipment is
equipped with a micro-break switch for control and protection, and important equipment such as
BMS and fire protection Power supply) to ensure the reliability of electricity use, and lightning
protection devices are installed in the AC circuit.

If the on-off combination of status indicators does not match the above list, it means that the system
is not powered on normally, and you can repeat the steps.
If after 5 repetitions, the system cannot be powered on normally, please contact the manufacturer to
troubleshoot the system.

Notice:
There are 2 types of users, one is operator gxgk (default password: 123), which is used to view the
battery running status, alarm information, basic parameters, etc. This identity cannot set parameters
for users to use. Another one is the manager who is in charge (Default password: 123321), who can
also see the content viewed by the operator. This identity can set relevant operation parameters for
the manufacturer/person who is in charge to debug.

Note: When there is charging and discharging current in the main circuit of the battery system, the
system will not be able to power off. Only when the charging and discharging current is less than 5A,
the power-off operation can be performed.

Regularly inspect and maintain all equipment of the fire protection system to ensure that all
functional indicators are in normal working order.
• The battery modules are all set with cell-level temperature monitoring, reporting to BMS
management to enable early warning function.
• When any battery cell has an over-temperature threshold (~80°C), the battery pack-level
immersion extinguishing system starts the liquid injection immersion protection to suppress
the early state of thermal runaway in the battery pack.
• If the hydrogen gas sensor detects off-gassing from battery cells, the automatic ventilation
system will engage, venting fresh air across the container to prevent explosive gases from
accumulating.
• When the thermal runaway in the battery pack cannot be controlled under extreme conditions
and spreads into the container, the gaseous agent fire extinguishing system activates, stopping
the ventilation system, and submerging the entire container with extinguishing gas while
triggering the fire alarm indicator and bells outside the container.
• If the gaseous agent fire extinguishing system is unable to control the fire in the container,
firefighters may also connect fire hose to the hose connector on the outside of the container
wall. The whole container can be continuously sprayed to extinguish the fire within the
container and prevent the fire from spreading outside the container.
The overall structure of a battery pack is shown in Figure 6-1. The liquid-cooling channel is integrated
to the bottom plate of the box, which not only reduces the height of the overall pack, but also ensures
the dry-wet separation between the coolant and the battery cells for system safety.
The internal structure of the battery pack is shown below in Figure 6-2. It includes a case cover, battery
modules, a thermal conductive pad, and a liquid-cooled integrated case. The single pack configuration
is 1P44S, which consists of 44x 300Ah lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells. The thermal conductive pad
is filled in gaps between the cells and the cold plate to improve the efficiency of heat conduction. In
such way, the role of the liquid cooling system can be fully utilized, the maximum temperature of the
battery cell can be reduced, and the temperature difference of the system can be reduced at the same
time.
The flow channel’s schematic structure of the liquid-cooled integrated box is shown in Figure 6-3. After
the coolant enters the flow channel, it is divided into two branches in parallel, and then flows evenly
through the bottom area of all modules with a flow channel height of 3.3mm. This design can not only
reduce the flow resistance and improve the energy efficiency of the cooling unit, but also reduce the
temperature difference in the battery pack.
The schematic diagram of the piping system in the single rack is shown in Figure 6-5 and Figure 6-6.
The branch circuit connected to the battery pack is a quick-plug connector, and the one connected to
the battery pack is a SAE15.82 quick-plug connector. The outer diameter of the branch circuit is
17mm, and the outer diameter of the main pipe is 31mm. Each layer of parallel battery packs is
connected by a tee tube connector, and the inner diameter of the tee tube is 14mm.
The container piping system is shown in Figure 6-8. The liquid cooling system between all the
containers is connected in parallel. The system uses a customized chiller unit with a total flow rate of
The liquid cooling pipes of each rack of batteries are connected to the main circuit through
VDA/NW26+ quick-plug connectors, as shown in Figure 6-10. Both branch and main pipelines are
made of flexible material for easy installation.
In order to facilitate the maintenance of the system, each rack of battery liquid cooling pipelines has
independent manual control valves, and the main water outlet and return water pipelines are also
equipped with valves, as shown in Figure 6-11.
Note:
1) Applicable liquid: pure water, clean water, deionized water, clean tap water or mixed water.
2) Test conditions: ambient temperature 35°C, inlet water temperature 22°C
3) Test medium: 50% ethylene glycol aqueous solution
4) Communication: RS485
