ESTABLISHMENT FOR SIX-MONTH INDUSTRIAL TRAINING

I write to humbly request for Industrial Training Placement for the above named student of the
Department of …………………………..of the School of …………………………… of this University.
Usually, we send fourth year (400-Level) students on Industrial Training (SIWES), which is to provide
an avenue for students in institutions of higher learning to acquire industrial skills and experience in
their course of study and prepare them for industrial world they will graduate into.

SIWES, therefore, is a continuation of the students’ studies and not the usual long vacation employment
offered to undergraduates by companies/establishments. The attachee shall be jointly supervised by the
staff members of your establishment, the staff members of Industrial Training Fund (ITF) and the staff
members of the Federal University of Technology, Akure.

Note: The validity of this letter is subject to the presentation of the student’s University
identification card.
