PLACEMENT REQUEST FOR STUDENTS’ INDUSTRIAL WORK EXPERIENCE SCHEME

This to request for a position of Industrial training (IT) for Mr/Miss ………………………………
………………………. with registration number ………………………….., who is a student of Department of
Civil Engineering, Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife.

Our BSc degree programme is structured such that Part III students spend three (3) months of the long vacation
while part IV students spend six(6) months (second semester within the long vacation) in an industrial or
engineering establishment where they are expected to acquire practical experience relevant to their course of
study.

This student is a part III/IV student and is thus eligible for three/six months of students’ industrial work
experience scheme (SIWES) attachment in your organization. It shall be appreciated if he/she is accepted for the
SIWES in your establishment.

Your acceptance of this student will be considered as part of your contribution to the engineering development
in Nigeria. Kindly let us know your decision on this student and if more of our students could be accepted in
your organisation, by completing and stamping the attached form.

This Scheme is being funded by the industrial Training Fund (ITF). However, this is without prejudice to any
form of financial assistance your organisation may wish to voluntarily render to the student(s).
