METHOD STATEMENT FOR

WATERPROOFING WORKS
SEABIRD DB 01
STP TANKS WATERPROOFING

Materials:
1. Dr. Fixit Fastflex: Polymer modified cementitious coating
2. Dr. Fixit Pidicrete AM: Expansive plasticizing admixture
3. Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP: SBR latex for waterproofing, bond coat and repairs
4. Dr. Fixit Pidigrout 10M: non-shrink cementitious grout
5. Dr. Fixit Pidiproof LW+: Integral Waterproofing Compound.

Tools and Machineries:


1. Grouting pump
2. Drilling machine
3. Chisel and hammer.
4. Wire brush, cleaning brush, gloves, bucket, paint brush, PVC nipples etc.

Surface preparation: (Civil Contractor Scope)


1. Initial cleaning the surface and the entire area shall be taken up for thorough surface
preparation and mechanical removal of debris, laitance, protrusions, etc.
2. The area water proofing should be protected with proper barricades.
3. Removing PVC pipe from tie rod holes or cut tie rod as per site requirement.
4. All honeycombs and surface undulation has to be treated as per standard procedure.

Method of application:
1. Cleaning the surface with coir/wire brush to remove the residues.
2. Any pipes or openings/protrusions shall be provided prior to taking up the surface preparation.
3. All bore packing:
a. Pipes to be placed/inserted in the core cut areas, shall be aligned properly prior to bore
packing.
b. Cleaning/Roughening the inside surface of the bore hole.
c. Pipes to be inserted in the core cut areas with effective leak-free shuttering system.
d. The pipe to be inserted, appropriately roughening with hacksaw-blade, applying a coat of
Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP and over this, sprinkling sand to receive non-shrink grout.
e. Filling the gap between PVC pipe and core cut with Dr. Fixit Pidigrout 10M including
shuttering the gap bottom with backer rod or with suitable material.
4. Along the construction joint make a V groove of approx. 15mmx15mm. Fix PVC nipples at 1m c/c
and pack the joint with cement mortar 1:4 admixed with Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP @ 2L/50 kg bag
of cement.
5. Injection grouting (cementitious grouting) at all construction joints, angle fillet areas & weaker
sections @ 1m C/C through the PVC nipples with 40PSI grout pump using cement slurry mixed
with non-shrink admixture Dr. Fixit Pidicrete AM @225gms per bag of cement.
6. Laying of angle fillets (50mm x 50mm) with necessary initial slurry bond coat at the junction of
slab & vertical walls prepared with cement sand mortar 1:4 admixed with Dr. Fixit Pidiproof LW+
@ 200 ml per 50 kg bag of cement.
7. Pre-wet the surface.
8. Applying two component Polymer modified cementitious flexible waterproofing, Dr. Fixit
Fastflex @ 2 Kg per Sqm in two coats with a minimum interval of 6-8 hours, including curing by
water sprinkling.
9. Coating shall be done on the entire horizontal surface and vertical surface.
10. Allow the coating to completely cure for 3 days.
11. Horizontal protection: Protect the coating with a min. 50mm thick concrete screed in M20
grade slope towards the drain outlets for effective and efficient draining of water including
admixing the concrete with integral waterproofing compound, Dr. Fixit Pidiproof LW+ @ 200
ml per bag of cement.
12. Vertical protection: Protect the coating for vertical surfaces with polymer modified plastering
of min. 15mm thick CM 1:4 admixed with Dr. Fixit Pidiproof LW+ @ 0.2litre/bag of cement.
13. Allow the screed and plaster to cure as per standard procedure.
14. Applying two coats of chemical resistant epoxy coating Dr. Fixit Coal Tar Epoxy at
500gms/sqm
