Chapter 4

INTRODUCTION
About the floors of tulip towers have the 36 residential floors and have a 3
duplexs 10 24 37 in block A AND D AND 4 DUPLEXS in block B and C 6 18
29 37,
Background:
To level the buildings, block AB is about 50cm lower than CD. During the
survey, they leveled the roofs from the commercial floor. After that, all the
floors are at the same level.
Objectives:
1. Structure design analysis:
In the past, curing was done by covering the concrete surface with a damp material
that needed hydration; this process was called wet covering and required the material
to stay wet. However, the method has evolved, and now a curing compound is used.
This compound consists of chemical materials that are sprayed on the concrete after
casting.

All the lintels used in this project will be made in the

project using reinforced concrete. Sometimes those
lintels have deflections in their center due to their
method of storage, and sometimes they have errors in
their straightening. The solution to this problem when
building the wall is to address it.
Block:

In this project will used the (Ponza) block which have a very well isolation to sound and
warm and easy handling and setting way, which will be used 3 sizes (19cm*39*20*,
15*20*39, 12*20*39cm), which those type of block have a less weight by comparing
with concrete block.

one disadvantage of Ponza blocks is that they can be more expensive

compared to other types of construction blocks. Additionally, their
unique appearance may not suit all architectural styles or preferences. It's
also essential to ensure proper maintenance as Ponza blocks may require
specific care to preserve their color and structural integrity over time.

Methods of placing block:

When you were laying the first row of blocks in Tulip Towers, you were ensuring the
foundation was level and compacted. You were starting by placing the first block at a
corner, making sure it was level and aligned with the string line. You were continuing to
place the blocks next to each other, ensuring they were level and properly aligned. You
were using a level to check the alignment as you were going along. This was helping
create a strong and straight first row for the wall at Tulip Towers.
After they had laid the first row of blocks in Tulip Towers, they were likely continuing to
build the wall by adding more rows of blocks on top of the first row. Each subsequent
row would be laid in a staggered pattern to increase the stability and strength of the wall.
Additionally, they might have been applying mortar between the blocks to bond them
together securely. This process would have been repeated until the desired height of the
wall was achieved, following the construction plans and ensuring the wall was straight
and structurally sound.

After completing all the rows of blocks, using foam to connect the final row with the slab
can help reduce the load on the blocks during any deflection. The foam acts as a buffer,
absorbing some of the stress and distributing the load more evenly. This can be
particularly beneficial in situations where there might be slight movements or deflection
in the structure. However, it's important to ensure that the foam used is of high quality
and suitable for construction purposes to effectively serve its purpose in reducing the load
on the blocks and maintaining the structural integrity of the building at Tulip Towers.

Two types of foam were used in Tulip Towers. One of them is for fire-resistant purposes.
Using different types of foam serves various functions in construction. Fire-resistant
foam enhances the safety of the building by providing protection against fire hazards. The
other type of foam may serve different purposes such as insulation, soundproofing, or
structural support. By using multiple types of foam, the construction can benefit from a
combination of properties like fire resistance, insulation, and structural integrity, ensuring
a well-rounded approach to building safety and efficiency at Tulip Towers.

During the inspection at Tulip Towers, the

rules and guidelines typically include checking the alignment and
levelness of the walls, ensuring that the blocks are properly bonded
with mortar, inspecting the structural integrity of the building, verifying that the
construction meets the approved plans and specifications, and confirming that all safety
measures and regulations are being followed. Inspections are crucial to ensure that the
construction is progressing correctly and that the building will be safe and sound once
completed.

Several advantages are achieved.

Ensuring that the walls are properly aligned and level, and that the blocks are securely
bonded with mortar, results in a structurally sound building that is less prone to issues
such as leaning or collapsing. Adhering to approved plans and specifications helps
maintain consistency and quality throughout the construction process, leading to a well-
built and aesthetically pleasing structure. Additionally, following safety measures and
regulations during construction promotes a safe working environment for the workers and
ensures that the building will be safe for occupants once completed. Overall, these rules
and guidelines contribute to the durability, safety, and quality of Tulip Towers.

If there are any problems or issues with the walls at Tulip Towers, it is essential to
address them promptly to maintain the structural integrity of the building. If there are
misalignments, cracks, or other issues in the walls, the construction team should assess
the extent of the problem. Depending on the severity, they may need to remove and
replace the affected blocks, reinforce the structure, or apply additional support to rectify
the issue. It's crucial to consult with structural engineers or construction experts to
determine the best course of action to fix any problems in the walls effectively.

The (Astar) material is used to connect the shear wall with the block wall at
Tulip Towers. It is also applied as a coating on the shear wall to roughen
the surface, enhancing the binding with the block wall. This process
helps ensure a strong and secure connection between the two types of
walls, improving the overall structural integrity of the building.

Disadvantage of Astar:
a disadvantage of Astar material is that it can be more expensive than traditional
materials, which can impact overall project costs. Additionally, Astar material may
require specialized handling or equipment during fabrication and installation, adding to
the complexity of using this material.

 One of the important steps when laying blocks for doors is to place them in a different way. You
should first add some mortar to the first and last blocks before continuing with the rest of the
blocks. This method helps ensure a strong and stable door frame construction.

The job layout of this project can be seen as part of the management. All the materials that
need to be away from the environment are provided with a special place in the basement, and
a private laboratory and steel workshop(figure9 and figure10). The engineers' cabinet and
dining area are neatly located a few meters outside the project.

All of the above can be an effective factor in saving time and reducing safety problems and
irregularities.
