glossary
Microscopic World: Scopicity is a microscopic world that exists within the spaces
between atoms and molecules. It is a realm of infinite variety, where life has adapted to
thrive in the harshest environments.
Big Bang: A cataclysmic event that occurred when a human scientist accidentally
spilled a mysterious substance on his microscope slide, creating a new microscopic
world full of life and diversity. This world is called a Scopicity, and its inhabitants are
the Scopicitiae.
Bubble: The protective membrane that surrounds each Scopicity, isolating it from the
outside world. The Bubble is composed of a thin layer of the substance that caused the
Big Bang, and it has unique properties that allow it to bend light, filter air, and regulate
temperature. The Bubble also acts as a portal to other Scopicities, as well as to the
Beyond the Bubble realm.
Scopicity: A term that refers to both the microscopic world and the community of
Scopicitiae that live in it. Each Scopicity has its own characteristics, such as size, shape,
color, climate, flora, fauna, and culture.
Some Scopicities are peaceful and harmonious, while others are chaotic and hostile. Some
Scopicities are ancient and stable, while others are young and volatile. Some Scopicities
are isolated and self-sufficient, while others are connected and interdependent.
Scopicitiae: The collective name for the living beings that inhabit the microscopic
world. They are derived from various microorganisms, such as bacteria, fungi, algae,
protozoa, and viruses.
Survivability: The measure of how well a Scopicitiae can cope with the challenges
and dangers of their world. Survivability depends on many factors, such as physical
attributes, mental abilities, skills, resources, equipment, and allies.
Survivability can be improved by learning new things, acquiring new items, forming
new relationships, or discovering new places.
A Breathing Apparatus can adjust the air intake and output of a Scopicitiae according to
their needs and preferences. A Breathing Apparatus can also protect a Scopicitiae from
harmful substances or pathogens in the air.
2
Calamity: An event that causes great damage or destruction to a Scopicity or its inhabitants.
Calamities can be natural or artificial, internal or external, predictable or random.
Some examples of Calamities are floods, droughts, fires, earthquakes, storms, plagues, wars,
invasions, explosions, or collapses. Calamities can threaten the survival of a Scopicity or its
inhabitants unless they take preventive or reactive measures.
Deity: A powerful entity that watches over a Scopicity or a group of Scopicitiae. A Deity can
be benevolent or malevolent, active or passive, visible or invisible.
A Deity can influence the fate of a Scopicity or its inhabitants by granting blessings or curses,
performing miracles or disasters, sending messages or signs, or intervening directly or
indirectly. A Deity can also have followers or enemies among the Scopicitiae who worship or
oppose them.
Beyond the Bubble: The term that refers to the realm outside of the microscopic world of the
Scopicities. This is where the giant humans live and work in their macroscopic scale. Beyond
the Bubble is a vast and mysterious place full of wonders and dangers for the Scopicitiae who
dare to venture there.
Beyond the Bubble can offer opportunities for exploration, discovery, trade, or diplomacy
with the humans or other creatures. But it can also pose threats of exposure, capture,
contamination, or annihilation by the humans or their machines.

Getting Started
Number of Players
Scopicity is a cooperative or solo game about creating and exploring a microscopic
world. That means you can play this game alone or with friends, and we recommend
having a drink and some snacks nearby to enhance your experience.
Mode:
You can be anything you like in Scopicity: a character, a god, a deity, or even a
creature of your own invention.
Character Mode: You play as any character in Scopicity. You can be anything you
want: microbe, insect, plant, parasite, animal, or even a microscopic object.
World Mode: You are the creator and narrator of Scopicity. You create the world,
its inhabitants, and its stories. You view the world in a third-person perspective.
Gameplay Overview:
Beginning:
• Choose a Game Mode: Character Mode or World Mode.
• Decide on The Big Bang: How was the microscopic world created? Name it and
determine its age. Who lives in Scopicity? What are they like? Create unique
and interesting locations in Scopicity.
Game Cycle:
• To play, simply shuffle the deck of cards and draw one card.
• Refer to the tables of Oracles, the card will give you a prompt, and you will use
your imagination to tell a story.
End of Cycle:
• At the end of the session either an End Time event is triggered or it is avoided,
in that case repeat the Game Cycle.
• Epilogue: Shuffle the deck and draw a card against the end time event.

Players
Solo
When you play solo, you have complete control over your character and the world
you create. You can craft a story that’s unique to you and your preferences.
However, playing alone can also feel lonely and ephemeral without the input of
other players. To make your solo sessions more meaningful, we suggest recording
your adventures in some way.
You can do this in any format that works for you - write a few bullet points, draw
and take notes in a journal, or write a detailed play report to share online. This
will help you keep track of your progress, and also add a more tangible aspect to
your play.
When you play solo, oracles can be a useful tool to help you when you don’t have
an immediate answer to a question. However, it’s important to trust your instincts
and let your own storytelling abilities shine through.
Let the consequences of your failed moves flow naturally from the fiction, and
make occasional oracle rolls for a twist. Remember, a great story requires adversity.
Embrace failure and let it make your successes all the more meaningful.
When in doubt, opt for the dramatic, even if it means taking your story in an
unplanned direction.
Co-op
You can also play Scopicity with a group of friends, sharing the responsibilities of
storytelling. You can divide the various roles and tasks among yourselves or work
together to tell an immersive and engaging story.
The beauty of this game is that the power lies in your hands, and you have the
flexibility to adapt and play it in a way that suits your group best.
When you play cooperatively, you have the option to choose between playing with
a single deck of cards or having one deck per player. If you choose to use multiple
decks, each player will have their own Fate Pile to draw from.
This allows for a more personalized and varied experience for each player.
9
Planning
When you play cooperatively, you share the responsibilities of storytelling with
your group. You can divide the various roles and tasks among yourselves or work
together to tell an immersive and engaging story.
Safety
Scopicity is a game that encourages creativity and imagination, but it also involves
exploring a microscopic world that may contain unfamiliar or uncomfortable
elements. That’s why Scopicity comes with pre-loaded safety tools to help you and
your players have a safe and enjoyable experience.
Membrane are topics that your group has decided are off-limits and should never
be included in the game.
Filters are topics that can be mentioned, but not dwelled on or focused on for an
extended period of time. This list includes potentially sensitive subjects such as
harm to animals, sexual assault, and suicide, among others.
By establishing common Membrane and Filters with your players, you can create
a safe and welcoming space where everyone can feel comfortable and respected.
Here are some additional tips for planning a safe and inclusive Scopicity game:
• Be mindful of your players’ needs. If you know that a player has a particular
trigger, try to avoid introducing that topic into the game.
• Don’t be afraid to say no. If a player asks you to do something that you don’t feel
comfortable with, it’s okay to say no.
• Have a backup plan. If things do go wrong, have a plan in place for how you will
handle the situation. This could include taking a break from the game, ending
the game early, or talking to the player one-on-one.
• The most important thing is to create a safe and inclusive space where everyone
can have fun and enjoy the game.
10
Warm-up Kits
Scopicity has several tools to help you create a shared experience that will make
your game fun and memorable.
Unsetting Questions
One of these tools is Unsetting Questions, which are open-ended questions about
the Scopicity that you can answer creatively and freely. Anyone can answer,
and different answers are welcome. However, the answers are not true, but only
rumors or possibilities. The purpose of Unsetting Questions is to warm up your
imagination and get you in the mood for the game. It also allows you to share your
ideas without any pressure or rejection.
1. What kind of creatures inhabit the Scopicitiy and what do they want?
2. What happens if you get trapped in the Scopicitiy for too long?
3. What kind of secrets does the Scopicitiy hold, and how can you uncover them?
4. What happens if you encounter a hostile Scopicitian, and how do you survive?
5. How does the Scopicitiy change over time, and what are the implications of
that?
6. What kind of challenges and obstacles can you encounter while exploring the
Scopicitiy?
7. What other civilizations or Scopicitian societies exist out there in the Scopicitiy?
8. What happens if you accidentally venture into a hostile Scopicitian society?
9. How does the Scopicitiy change over time, and can it be predicted or controlled?
10. Are there any secret locations within the Scopicitiy that can only be accessed
through certain means?
11. What kind of creatures or entities exist in the Scopicitiy, and are they all hostile?
12. What happens if you run out of supplies while exploring the Scopicitiy?
Framing Mode
Another tool is Framing Questions, which are similar to Unsetting Questions, but
with one difference. The answers are true, and they will affect the game. These are
questions that fill in important information for the story.

Game Instruction
Step 1: Create Your Scopicity
The Big Bang - Craft a Creation Story: What created your Scopicity? What was the
Big Bang Event, Creation Story that gave birth to this new world?
Name Your Scopicity: Give your new world a unique and memorable name.
Calculate the Survivability Score: This score will determine how much score
is required by all inhabitants of this world in order to survive. To calculate the
Survivability Score, add up the number of cards in your deck
Determine a Calamity: This is the End Time Event for your world. If you draw
the same 4 cards anytime in a single season, you will trigger a Small Calamity
Event. However, if the cards are drawn in different seasons, you will trigger a True
Calamity event instead.
Determine a Guardian Deity: This is a powerful being that can help you during a
Calamity. To determine your Guardian Deity, shuffle your deck and draw a card.
The card you draw will represent your Guardian Deity.
Determine the Type of Inhabitants: What kind of creatures live in your Scopicity?
You can create a single species or multiple species, each with their own unique
features.
*If you want to explore outside the bubble, you need to wear a special breathing apparatus
that allows you to survive in different environments.
Select a difficulty level for your game: Easy, Medium, Hard, or Very Hard.
You will be checking against this score every end of the season to see if your Scopicitiae have
made the preparation to survive through every season.
To start playing, choose as season, shuffle your deck, and draw a card.
*Each card drawn is a passing week in Scopicity.
*Each season is represented by 13 cards.
First Card: For the very first card draw of the season, refer to the Season’s Oracle.
Each season (spring, summer, autumn, and winter) has its own Season’s Oracle.
Use the prompt to write the story as to why the World Survivability Score increases
or decreases as you start a new season.
If you are playing in co-op, on their turn, an active player will draw a card and
refer to the Magnifying Oracle. There’s a matching prompt for each card, and the
active player makes a choice to play as a Character Point of View or in Worldview
mode. The player then follows the instructions. If you are playing co-op, discuss
it as a group. However, the person who drew the card will make the final decision
for what happens.
Repeat by drawing a new card until the end of Season (13 Cards). This signifies
four seasons, 13 cards which represent 13 weeks per season.
Step 6: End
At the end of Season, you will calculate the Season Change by adding all the
number of the 13 cards you’ve drawn and compare it against the World’s
Survivability Score. Then check against the difficulty you’ve selected. Depending
on your performance, you will need to adjust your World’s Survivability Score for
the next season.
Once the deck is depleted, shuffle and repeat the gameplay until The Calamity
is triggered. The game ends if the Calamity is triggered and your Scopicity is
destroyed. Continue playing if the Calamity is avoided.
15
The Big Bang
To begin your adventure in Scopicity, you need to create your own world which we
will call Scopicity, where your microbes will live. This world is the result of a Big
Bang event that happened beyond the bubble of the microscopic universe. You
need to figure out what caused this event and how it shaped this new world.
You can also keep it a mystery until later on, where one Scopicitiae discover how
the Big Bang started. More often than not, a Scopicity formed due to a combination
of the perfect accident and the perfect condition for life to flourish.
Use your imagination and creativity to come up with your own Big Bang, or use
the Big Bang Oracle to generate some ideas. It will give you four word prompts
based on the four cards that you draw from the deck. You can use these prompts
to inspire your creation story and write it down in your notebook as the first entry.
You can also opt to combine both the Big Bang and Big Bang Story Oracle below to
craft your creation story.
Other usage for the first FOUR CARDS you draw during The Big Bang.
You also need to draw four cards to determine some important aspects of your
world, such as:
1. The World Survivability Score: This is a number that indicates how easy or
hard it is for your microbes to survive in your world. You can find the formula
to calculate this score on page 22 of this document. Write down the score in
your notebook and keep track of it throughout the game.
2. The Calamity Event: This is the ultimate threat that will destroy your world if it
happens. It could be anything from a natural disaster to a cosmic invasion. You
can find a list of possible Calamities on page 25 of this document. Write down
the name and description of your Calamity in your notebook.
3. The Guardian Deity: This is a supernatural being that watches over your world
and its inhabitants. It could be anything from a god to a spirit. You can choose
or create your own Deity and write down its name, description, and power level
in your notebook.
If you don’t want to create your own world, you can also choose one of the pre-
made Big Bang event that we have provided for you with the Big Bang Creation
Oracle.
You can just draw one card from the deck and pick the corresponding world from
the list. You will still need to draw another 4 cards to create the world’s Big Bang
story, World Survivability Score, Calamity Event, and Guardian Deity.
16
We have provided 2 sets of Big Bang Oracle, A and B. You can use it in combination
or stand-alone. Here are some list of actions that could’ve caused the Big Bang:
Letfovers, Forgotten, Dropped, Accident, Nature took Over, Animals Intervention.
Take out a piece of blank paper, grid paper, or anything else you can use to draw
a map.
Sit down and draw a map of your Scopicity, or anything else that you can use to
record the layout, details, and appearance of your whole Scopicity.
Feel free to use a random card draw and consult the Map Oracle if you want to
randomize your Scopicity. You can also create your own buildings and features
with your own customization.

8 and elegant building with a large auditorium that can seat hundreds of microbes.
9 A Trade and Business area, where your microbes can exchange resources and commodities with others.
10 A Port, where your microbes can travel to and from other Scopicities or habitats by water.
A Travel Transportation system, where your microbes can move around your Scopicity or explore other
J places by land or air. Advanced and efficient network of vehicles such as cars, trains, bikes, or balloons.
Q An Adventure Hall, where your microbes can find quests and challenges to test their skills and abilities.
A Park, where your microbes can relax and enjoy nature. The park is a green and peaceful area with trees,
K flowers, grasses, and ponds that create and maintain a natural and serene environment.
Think of a word that describes the unique character of your Scopicity. To help
you with this task, we have prepared the Scopicity Name Oracle below:
21
Survivability Score
Once you have created your Scopicity and given it a name, SS Score Table
it’s time to determine its Survivability Score (SS). This score Card +Score
is a measure of how safe your Scopicity is for its inhabitants.
Ace 1
Use the SS Score Table to calcuate the SS of a Scopicity. #2-10 #2-10
Jack 11
To calculate your SS, simply add up the values of all the cards
you drew during the Big Bang. Aces are worth 1, Jacks are Queen 12
worth 11, Queens are worth 12, and Kings are worth 13.
King 13
SS = 1 + 3 + 3 + 12 = 19
Your Scopicity’s SS is 19. This means that all inhabitants, visitors, and living creatures
must have a Survivability Score of 19 or higher in order to survive in your Scopicity.
Bonus Calculation:
If you drew two or more cards of the same number during the
Bonus SS Scoring
Big Bang, you get to subtract some points from your SS. Hand -Score
Double 2
The penalty depends on how many cards of the same number
you drew: Earn bonus points by drawing Doubles, Triples, Triple 3
and Quads. Doubles are worth 2, Triples are worth 3, and Quad 4
Quads are worth 4.
Use the Bonus SS Scoring table to determine how much score you can reduce.
SS = 6 + 4 + 4 + 10 = 24
24 - 2 = 22
Your Scopicity’s SS is 22. This means that all inhabitants, visitors, and living creatures
must have a Survivability Score of 22 or higher in order to survive in your Scopicity.
*Always assume the Survivability Score beyond the Bubble is higher than any Scopicitiae.
22
Survivability Score Adjustment due to Season Change:
The Survivability Score is not permanent and will change during gameplay. The
change is triggered when the Seasons change. Keep track of the Survivability
Score on your notebook. It will fluctuate during your gameplay and be affected by
the Prompts itself or by the Season’s Score as compared to the Difficulty Score.
Once you’ve completed a season by drawing 13 cards, you will perform a check. If
the Season Survivability Score is comapred to the Difficulty Score you’ve selected.
Check by calculating the total number of the cards you’ve drawn during a season.
4,2,6,A,4,K,J,2,5,7,10,2,5=72
Once you’ve calculated the Seasonal Survivability Score above, compare it against
the numbers in your selected Difficulty mode:
After comparing, adjust the new Survivability Score by checking the Difference
between your Seasonal Survivability Score with the Difficulty Score.
So you will need to adjust your Scopicity’s required Survivability Score by +1. (refer below)
The game consists of four standard seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and
Winter. Each season has its own Magnifying Oracle, a table that helps you generate
prompts for your story. The Magnifying Oracle lets you peek into the microscopic
world and see what is happening there.
*You will draw a card and consult the corresponding cell on the table to get a prompt.
Depending on your world, you may also have other custom seasons that are unique
to your setting.
For example, you may have seasons like Poison, Dust Storm, Flood, Melting, Shaded,
Rotting, and so on. These seasons will require their own Magnifying Oracles as well.
You can find the Magnifying Oracles on “Your Journey Begins...” page when you
begin the game. Each Magnifying Oracle has a short description and a quote
related to its season, as well as beautiful illustrations.
24
Calamity
The Calamity Event is the ultimate challenge for your Scopicity. It will show you
how resilient and adaptable your microscopic world is in the face of adversity.
Will you be able to protect and preserve your Scopicity from the impending doom?
Or will you witness its downfall and destruction?
*Remember: Draw four cards from the deck at the beginning of the game. These are your
Big Bang cards that will determine the type and severity of the Calamity Event. Write down
these cards in the Big Bang and Calamity Section of your notebook.
Triggering a Calamity:
You will play the game in four seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter.
Each season, you will draw 13 cards from the deck and write them down in your
notebook. Check if any of these cards match your Big Bang cards. If they do, you
may trigger a Calamity Event. There are 2 types of calamity:
Small Calamity
A Small Calamity is a minor disaster that affects your Scopicity, such as a change
in temperature or geography. To trigger a Small Calamity, you need to draw all
four Big Bang cards in any order and in any season.
Example: If your Big Bang cards are A♥, 4 ♣, 8♥, and K♠, you can trigger a Small Calamity
by drawing these four cards if you draw it across Spring, Summer, Autumn, or Winter.
E.g: You draw 4 ♣ and 8♥ during the Summer, K♠ in Autumn, and A♥ in Winter.
True Calamity
A True Calamity is a major catastrophe that destroys most of your Scopicity, such
as a human footstep. To trigger a True Calamity, you need to draw all four Big Bang
cards in the same season.
Example: If your Big Bang cards are A♥, 4 ♣, 8♥, and K, you can trigger a True Calamity
by drawing these four cards in a single Season.
During the Calamity Event, you will be drawing 2 cards one for Calamity Event and
another is for the Guardian Deity Card.
You will then compare the two cards and check the result using the Fate Oracle and
what the Guardian Deity did to protect your Scopicity with the Deity Intervention
Oracle.
25
Draw a card and check the corresponding oracle to find out what kind of disaster
will threaten your Scopicity. You will use the Small or True Calamity oracles to
generate the prompts for the catastrophe that will strike your Scopicity.
26
Guardian Deity
Guardian Deity
Determine a Guardian Deity: This is a mighty entity that can assist you during a
Calamity. To choose your Guardian Deity, shuffle your deck and draw a card. The
card you draw will symbolize your Guardian Deity.

Deity’s Function
A Deity can aid you during a Calamity by comparing its Deity’s Card Score with the
Calamity’s Card Score and consult the result on the Fate Oracle.
To determine whether the Deity’s action is successful or failure take the Deity Card
and deduct it from the Calamity Card. Then, consult the Fate Oracle for the result.
Example: You draw the following cards.

Calamity Card: 6♣
-7 to -1 Mildly Unsuccesful
The result is 9 - 6 = 3

Character Creation
There are multiple steps in creating a Scopicitiae. From a species creation with
their trait’s and species name, to creating an individual, naming them, and
determining their Survivability Score.
The first step in Scopicity is to create your own species of Scopicitiae. You can use
the Trait Oracle to help you generate the features of a new species by drawing a
card and choosing their traits such as their appearance, personality, abilities, and
preferences. You can also use your own creativity to come up with your own.

K Chameleon Skin Shiny Coat Trunk Three Eyes
You can create a humanoid creature that walks on two legs, or something else that you are
familiar with. You can also create more than one inhabitant, each with their own different
traits and species. Feel free to experiment and have fun.
Once you’ve created a new species and name it, create a new individual Scopicitiae
and give it a name too. Repeat for as many iteration as you like.
29
Scopicitiae Survivability Score
Survivability
The second step in Scopicity is to determine the survivability of your inhabitant.
Survivability is a measure of how well your inhabitant can adapt and survive in the
microscopic world. Some inhabitants may need special equipment or conditions
to live, while others may be more resilient and versatile.
To calculate the survivability of your inhabitant, you need to draw four cards from
your deck during character creation and sum it up.
3♣ J♥ 8♦ 8♣
The total of these four cards, will give you a Scopicitiae Survivability Score of 30,
which you can compare against the Scopicity’s Survivability Score. E.g: 22.
Refer to the Survivability Oracle to determine the inhabitant’s requirement when visiting
or residing in a microscopic world.

Example: In the previous example, when we’ve created our species X, their final Survivability
Score is 32. To use the Survivability Oracle above, let us take an example Scopicity SS of 22.
32 - 22 = 10
In the example, we can see that the Scopicitiae’s Survivability in the example microscopic
world is 10. This falls under the, “Inhabitant doesn’t require any breathing assistance”.
Thus, this species of Scopicitiae can move freely in this world with wearing any mask, filters,
or breathing apparatus. They can interact and move around freely.
Subsequent Characters
If you’re creating another character with the same trait/ species, you may reuse
the same survivability score. Remember to give it a name and any backstory.
Once you know your Scopicitiae’s SS, you can assign a breathing apparatus or no
breathing apparatus depending on their Scores and write the story appropriately.
31
We are part of a greater whole, a
complex and delicate balance. We must
respect and care for our environment
and our fellow creatures, or suffer the
consequences.
32
Difficulty Level
You will be checking against this score every end of the season to see if your
Scopicitiae have made the preparation to survive through every season.
Your Scopicitiae’s Survivability Score is a measure of how well they are equipped to
survive the challenges of the upcoming season. If your Scopicitiae’s preparedness
score is below the required threshold at the end of a season, they will suffer the
consequences. (Refer to the Survivability Score at pg.13)
Difficulty Level
Choose how challenging you want your game to be:
Easy: A forgiving difficulty for beginners, where creating a Difficulty Score
thriving microscopic world is a breeze. Your Survivability Easy 70
Score will improve easily, giving you plenty of room to Medium 80
experiment and learn.
Hard 91
Medium: A moderate difficulty for intermediate players, Very Hard 96
where you’ll need to put your skills to the test to create
a flourishing microscopic world. Your Survivability Score will grow slowly and
dip occasionally, but with careful planning and management, you’ll be able to
overcome any challenges that come your way.
Very Hard: An extreme difficulty for expert players, where creating a stable
microscopic world is a near-impossible feat. Your Survivability Score will barely
change and decrease easily, so even the smallest mistake can have disastrous
consequences. Only the most skilled and dedicated players will be able to succeed
on this difficulty.
You can also use an easy difficulty for Scopicities that are simpler and tend to
thrive faster without much trouble as relevant to the story plot such as a rotten
food in the basement, or a world that was made in the gutter where no one sees,
or a fish tank even.
For harder difficulty for microscopic world that tend to collapse easier in the real
world such as those that were formed in the middle of the street, or in a kitchen
where it is often sanitized.
33
Choosing a Game Mode
Character Mode
In Character Mode, you’ll create and control a single character who exists within
the microscopic world of Scopicity. Your goal is to guide your character through
various challenges and obstacles, while also developing their personality,
backstory, and motivations.
This mode focus on a single Scopicitiae, whether it’s your personal Scopicitiae
or another key Scopicitiae when carrying out the card’s instruction. You can tell
a story of what the Scopicitiae experience after drawing the card. What they see,
hear, smell, feel, or do.
Here are some questions and prompts to help you get started in Character Mode:
1. What kind of character do you want to play? For example, are they a brave
adventurer, a curious scientist, or a mischievous trickster?
2. What is your character’s backstory? What led them to be in the microscopic
world, and what are their goals and motivations?
3. What are your character’s strengths and weaknesses? Do they have any unique
abilities or skills that will help them in their journey?
4. How will your character interact with other characters and inhabitants of the
microscopic world? Will they be friendly, hostile, or something in between?
World Mode
In World Mode, you’ll create and control an entire world within the microscopic
realm. Your goal is to build and manage a thriving ecosystem, complete with its
own inhabitants, resources, and challenges.
This mode overlooks the whole map of the Scopicity and you will focus on one
feature, occassion, moment or things that changed. This change can be growth,
destruction, something new popped out, something dissapears, or anything to do
with the bigger world of Scopicity. Talk about this amongs the Scopicitiaes and
observe/ discuss how the community reacts to this change.
Here are some questions and prompts to help you get started in World Mode:
1. What kind of world do you want to create? For example, do you want a world
with lush forests, towering mountains, or vast oceans?
2. What kind of inhabitants do you want to populate your world? For example,
do you want to include humans, animals, or fantastical creatures like elves or
dragons?
3. How will your inhabitants interact with each other and their environment? Will
they have complex societies, economies, and political systems, or will they be
more primitive and focused on survival?
4. How will your inhabitants adapt to their environment and evolve over time?
Will they develop new technologies, social structures, or cultural practices?

Game Toolkit
Requirement
Before you start the game, make sure We encourage you to write the story in
you have the following things ready: your notebook.
Resource
This book contains several resources that will assist you in playing the game:
• Instructions and Guides (Pg 8 to Pg 36): These sections explain how to play
the game, how to create your character, how to use the dice and cards, and
how to resolve conflicts and challenges.
• Season’s Magnifying Glass: This is the main gameplay oracle that you will
use to generate and progress your game. It consists of a table with four
columns, each representing a season. You will roll a die to determine which
column to use, and then draw a card to select a row.
• Other Oracles: These are additional tables that you can use to generate
various elements that you might need during the game, such as locations,
characters, events, items, etc. You can find them throughout the book,
especially in the final section, the general oracles.
• Gameplay Example Story: This is an example of how a game session might
look like, using the Season’s Magnifying Glass and other oracles. You can use
it as a reference or inspiration for your own game.
• Artwork: To help you immerse yourself in the game world of Scopicity,
we have also prepared a lot of art to illustrate the world. You can see the
images of different seasons, locations, characters, and items that you might
encounter in your game.
35
Your Journaling Begins
1. Choose a season and shuffle your deck.
2. Draw a card and refer to the Season’s Oracle during the start of a Season.
3. Draw the remaining 12 cards of the season and refer to the Magnifying Oracle.
4. Interpret your cards and write a story about what happens in Scopicity.
5. Repeat until the end of the season.
6. Calculate the Season’s SS and compare it against the Scopicity’s SS.
7. Adjust the world’s Scopicity Survivability Score for the next season.
8. Repeat until the deck is depleted.
9. If the Calamity is triggered, the world might end. Tell a story of how the
inhabitants survive and evacuate to another Scopicity beyond the Bubble.
10. Otherwise, continue playing.
Character Mode
This is a game where you use your imagination and creativity to write a story based
on the prompts you get from drawing cards. The story is set in your Scopicity
world, a fictional place where you can create any characters and story you want.
A player can use the prompt as a starting point for their story, and then expand on
it using their imagination. E.g: You find a mysterious map in an old book.
Story Examples:
I was browsing through the library of the Scopicity Academy, looking for some books on
ancient history. I stumbled upon a dusty tome with a faded title: “The Secrets of the Lost
Continent”. Curious, I opened it and flipped through the pages. To my surprise, I saw a map
tucked inside the book. It was a map of a land I had never seen before, with strange symbols
and markings on it. It looked like a treasure map, but for what? I felt a surge of excitement
and curiosity. Maybe this was my chance to discover something new and amazing in my
Scopicity world. I decided to take the map with me and find out more about it. Little did I
know that this map would lead me to an adventure beyond my wildest dreams…
36
Additional Prompt Actions
Sometimes, the Season’s Magnifying Glass will give you a prompt that also has
some extra instructions for your Season’s Survivability Score. These instructions
will look like [+1SS] or [-1SS], which mean to add or subtract one point from your
score, respectively. For example, you might get a prompt like this:
You find a rare flower that blooms only in this season. It has
a sweet fragrance and a beautiful color. [+1SS]
You should write a scene about finding the flower and then increase your Season’s
Survivability Score by one point. You should keep track of these changes in your
notebook.
When the season ends, you can add value into your calculation of the Season
Change Score. Any extra instructions from the prompt will always be recorded
inside the brackets [ ].

Spring Season
The first rays of sunlight pierce through the clouds, bringing warmth and
hope to the tiny inhabitants of Scopicity. The snowflakes that once covered
the land melt into droplets, creating rivers and lakes of life. Flowers bloom
and insects buzz, filling the air with color and sound. Spring has arrived in
Scopicity, and with it, a new cycle of growth and renewal.

Summer Season
In the normal world, summer is a time of leisure and fun. But in Scopicity,
summer is a time of stress and danger. The heat causes droughts that
deplete resources and cause conflicts. The clouds create storms that unleash
lightning and hail. The plants attract competitors that fight for territory. The
animals create offspring that increase demand and pressure. Summer is a
time of struggle and competition for the microscopic beings of Scopicity.

Autumn Season
In the human world, autumn is a time of harvest and gratitude. But in Scopicity, autumn
is a time of decay and loss. The darkness reduces visibility and communication. The
cold reduces activity and metabolism. The leaves create litter that blocks air flow
and water flow. The fruits create waste that attracts pests and parasites. Autumn is a
time of decline and decay for the microscopic beings of Scopicity.

Additional Oracles
1. To use an oracle, simply ask a question or envision an event. The oracle will
then generate a prompt or outcome.
2. For example, you could ask the Event Oracle to generate a random encounter.
The oracle might then generate an encounter with a group of bandits, a
dangerous creature, or a mysterious stranger.
3. You could also ask the General Oracle for a “Yes/No” question. The oracle
would then generate a response whether it’s a Yes, No, or in between.
4. You will then take the answers to write a story such as being stealthy, using your
environment to your advantage, or working together with other Scopicitiae.
5. Oracles can be a valuable tool for players who are stuck or who want to add
some excitement and unpredictability to their game.
Using Oracles
If you need help generating a name for your Scopicitiae, we provide a name
generator in the game. You can also use the various Oracles provided to generate
your Scopicity’s location and other details.
Oracles
Oracles are powerful tools that can be used to resolve uncertainties, confusion, and
conflict. They can also be used to randomize stuff, such as events and encounters.
1. Extra Oracle: Use this Oracle to generate various names for your Scopicitiae,
Scopicity, and for other use case.
2. Outcome Oracle and Story Outcome Oracle: This oracle can be used to
generate random events, such as encounters with enemies, challenges, or new
discoveries.
3. General Oracle: This oracle can be used to get general answers to your
questions about the game world or your Scopicitiae’s journey.
4. Fate Oracle: This oracle can be used to determine the outcome of important
events, such as battles or conflicts.
5. Custom Prompt Oracles: This oracle can be used to generate a short prompts
based on your Scopicitiae’s current situation.

Outcome Oracle
Uncertainty is a natural part of storytelling, but it can also be a source of frustration
for writers. That’s where our Outcome Oracle comes in - a useful tool that can
help you decide the outcome of a scene, whether it’s a positive or negative event.
Our Oracle is simple to use. Just draw a card from a standard deck, and use the
number on the card to determine the outcome. J, Q, and K are considered 10s, so
you have a 1 in 3 chance of getting a positive outcome.
But that’s not all - our Outcome Oracle can also be used in combination with
other Oracles for custom prompts or when you’re facing a creative block.
Need help figuring out what happens next in your story? Use the Oracle in
combination with the Magnifying Oracles to generate a random outcome and see
where it takes you.

Fate Oracle
The Fate Oracle is a powerful tool that can be used to determine the success
or failure of an action in Scopicity. It is used by players and narrators alike to
resolve conflicts, create suspense, and add an element of randomness to the
game.

Story Outcome Oracle can help! 2 A minor setback occurs.
Don’t be afraid to experiment. The Story Outcome Oracle is just a tool to help you
generate ideas. You can always change the outcome if you don’t like it.
Use the oracle to challenge yourself. If you’re always writing happy endings, try
drawing a negative outcome and seeing how you can work it into your story.
Here are some examples of how to use the Story Outcome Oracle:
• You’re writing a scene where your protagonist is trying to escape from a dungeon.
They draw a 3, which means a major setback occurs. The dungeon guards catch up
to them and they’re forced to fight.
• You’re writing a scene where your protagonist is trying to win the heart of their love
interest. They draw a J, which means a positive event occurs that is unexpected.
Their love interest suddenly confesses their feelings for them.
• You’re writing a scene where your protagonist is trying to defeat the villain. They
draw a K, which means a character makes a sacrifice. The protagonist’s best friend
dies to save them.

General Oracle
Using Yes or No Questions to Resolve Story Conflicts
If you’re faced with a question or an event in your story that you’re not sure how
to resolve, try phrasing it as a yes or no question. This can be a helpful way to
brainstorm ideas and come up with new solutions.
Here are a few tips for using yes or no questions to resolve story conflicts:
• Make sure the question is phrased in a way that makes sense for the whole story,
not just what is best for your protagonist. For example, instead of asking “Should
my protagonist attack the villain?”, you could ask “Will attacking the villain
resolve the conflict in a satisfying way?”
• Consider the outcome of both a yes and no answer. Will either answer lead to a
more interesting and engaging story?

*Don’t be afraid to experiment. The yes or no question is just a starting point. You can
always change the outcome later if you don’t like it.
Here are a few examples of how to use yes or no questions to resolve story conflicts:
• Your protagonist is trying to decide whether to betray their friends or not. You
could ask yourself: “Will betraying my friends help my protagonist achieve their
goal?”
• Your protagonist is trying to defeat a powerful villain. You could ask yourself: “Can
my protagonist defeat the villain without sacrificing their own values?”
• Your protagonist is trying to save a loved one from a dangerous situation. You could
ask yourself: “Is the only way to save my loved one to put myself in danger?”

Gameplay Example
Luke gathered his deck of cards and notepad, eager to begin a new adventure with
his best friend Zack. The two imaginative teens loved playing Scopicity together,
a game that let them build fantastical worlds from scratch. Today they would dive
into a fresh realm, bringing it to life through storytelling and dice rolls.
As Luke shuffled the cards, Zack prepared a document to record their creation in
a journal. “Ready to see what our new world will be made of?” Luke asked, barely
containing his excitement.
Zack grinned. “I can’t wait! Let’s draw those Big Bang cards and get this underway.”
Luke dramatically drew four cards from the top of the deck: the 10♦, 7♠, 5♥ and
3♣. “That’s a Survivability Score of 25.”
“Awesome, we’ve got a Rocket, Torch, Apple Pie and Parrot,” Zack said, jotting
down the items. “This place is already shaping up to be something special.”
The two friends spent the next moment brainstorming how these objects would
come together to form their new land. Perhaps the rocket could crash into a pastry
shop, sending apple pies flying. One lands on an island, baked to perfection in the
tropical sun. Nearby, a parrot surveys the tasty terrain from its perch atop a palm
tree.
“A rocket, torch, apple pie and parrot,” Zack murmured, scribbling down the Big
74
Bang cards. “This place is gonna be crazy cool!”
Luke nodded enthusiastically. “Right? The possibilities are endless with those
items. Where should we even start?”
“Hmm, well the rocket makes me think of space travel and adventure,” Zack
pondered. “What if it’s this high-tech ship on an intergalactic mission?”
“Ooh I love that!” Luke exclaimed. “It could be traveling through an asteroid field
when suddenly - bam! It gets hit by a huge meteorite.”
Zack gestured wildly as he described the collision. “Yes! The ship starts spinning
out of control. Alarms are blaring as it hurtles into the atmosphere of a nearby
planet.”
Jumping up, Luke acted out the rocket spiraling down. “It’s trailing smoke, nearly
breaking apart as it nears the surface. Then - kaboom!”
“Epic crash landing!” Zack cheered. “The rocket totally obliterates a mountain
top, leaving a massive crater.”
Luke scooped up the apple pie card. “Okay, so maybe before takeoff, the crew had
stopped at this alien food truck. One ordered this weird local pie.”
“The pie!” Zack interjected. “In the chaos of the crash, the cardboard pie box gets
ejected. It’s tumbling through the air before splatting perfectly into the crater.”
“Like a meteorite of deliciousness!” Luke said. “And the inner pie filling starts to
melt in the heat, oozing out golden and bubbling.”
Zack pretended to take a big bite. “Mmm, alien apple pie lava. But what about the
torch and parrot?”
Luke held up the cards thoughtfully. “Hmm...ooh, what if the ship’s robotic torch
repair bot gets activated?”
“Yes, it extricates itself from the wreck and is programmed to assess the
environment!” Zack said.
“Totally! Its scanner detects the life-giving warmth of the pie,” Luke said. “So it
ambles over and stands guard, its torch raised.”
Zack made dramatic robotic motions. “Beep boop! Must analyze and protect pie!”
The boys cracked up laughing. Luke then waved the parrot card. “We still need
this little guy. Maybe he was the ship’s pet?”
75
“The parrot!” Zack exclaimed. “In the crash, his cage broke open. He was flung
into the jungle canopy.”
Flapping his arms, Luke imitated the parrot’s squawks. “The smoke plumes draw
him to the crash site. He swoops down to investigate.”
“Spying the tempting pie, he lands on the lip of the crater,” Zack said, stroking his
imaginary beak. “The brave parrot swallows a hot morsel.”
Luke pretended to squawk in alarm. “It burns his mouth, so he takes off searching
for water!”
“Wait, that’s perfect!” Zack said. “The parrot’s flight reveals a river. It flows from
a glittering sapphire lake.”
“Which the parrot of course dives into for sweet relief,” Luke adds. “Our little pie
has now settled into it’s new home!”
Luke laughed. “Right? Who knew four random cards could get us so pumped
about a tiny world?”
“For real, I’m already invested in this place and its lore,” Zack said, flipping
through his notes. “Pie Island, Torch Valley, Parrot Paradise - this is gonna be
epic!”
After hashing out the origin story, Luke and Zack rolled for a name. The cards
dictated Castlebay would be this realm’s moniker. They sketched a rough map of
the microscopic world formed from the fallen pie, denoting the Pie Island, Parrot
Palm Jungle and glittering Cookie Cove.
To watch over Castlebay, they drew the 9♣ card - an ancient, bearded wizard!
“Perfect protector for this mystical land in the real world,” declared Luke.
“Alright, time to roll our explorer characters!” Luke declared, gathering his cards
and dice.
Zack rubbed his hands together in anticipation. “This is always my favorite part.
Seeing what random traits we get to work with.”
“Let’s start with me,” said Luke, giving the cards a shuffle. “Here goes!”
The first draw was a King of Spades. “Oooh, we’ve got wings!” Zack exclaimed.
76
Luke grinned. “Sweet! I’m loving this mythical character already.” He rolled again
and got a 2 of Hearts. “Hmm, what should my second trait be?”
“Maybe some cool insect wings?” Zack suggested. “Since it’s a low card. Like a
dragonfly or bee?”
“A dragonfly! That would look awesome,” Luke said, envisioning his creation.
For the third roll, a 5 of Diamonds, Luke decided on tiny antennae to pick up
scents. The final roll, an Ace of Clubs, granted his character magical frost breath.
“Wow, you’re gonna be quite the formidable explorer but with only a Survivability
Score of 21...” Zack said. “What should we name you?”
Luke studied his character sheet. The wings and antennas sparked an idea. “How
about Skitter? Since I can zip around fast.”
“Skitter the frost-breathing dragonfly sprite,” Zack said dramatically. “I love it!
Your turn is done, now let’s see what I get.”
Cracking his knuckles, Zack rolled a Queen of Hearts first. “Alright, high card
means something big. Yep, the Oracle shows that I could have giant hand.”
Zack’s eyes lit up. “A giant! But in a micro-sized world. That would be hilarious.”
The next roll was a 4 of Diamonds, giving Zack bouncy elf ears. Then a 7 of Clubs
granted him furry moose antlers. For his final roll, a Jack of Spades, he got a thick
beaver tail.
Luke chuckled. “You’re like a mini lumberjack giant with an Survivability Score
of 34! What should we call you?”
“Hmm, maybe Lumber? No, too boring,” Zack mused. “Ooh, I’ve got it! Blix. It just
sounds appropriately fantastical.”
“It’s perfect!” said Luke. “I can’t wait to see Skitter and Blix’s friendship develop
as we start playing.”
As the two friends scribbled down character details, their excitement grew. Each
new ability complemented the other, promising future teamwork. Though very
different, Skitter’s agility and Blix’s strength would prove invaluable on grand
adventures.
“Help me flesh out Blix’s backstory,” said Zack. “Where does a miniature giant
come from?”
77
Luke thought for a moment. “Well, maybe his community lives deep in an
enchanted fungal forest. They use their climbing skills to build treehouse villages.”
“Oooh, I love that!” Zack replied, writing notes. “And Blix has always been an
explorer at heart. He journeys to find new and weird forests to settle.”
The pair continued brainstorming creative details about each character’s history,
motivations, and traits. An unlikely duo formed - the whimsical sprite and the
intrepid giant.
As the afternoon sun dipped low, Luke and Zack finalized their character sheets.
Both were itching with excitement to begin gameplay.
“I think Skitter and Blix are gonna make an amazing team,” Luke said proudly.
Zack nodded. “Totally! Our creativity is off the charts today. I can’t wait to explore
this new - Pie World, that had fallen from the sky.”
Luke’s rolls yielded Skitter the dragonfly-winged sprite. Zack’s resulted in Blix the
miniature giant with a clubtail hammer. An unlikely duo, but their camaraderie
would see them through many adventures.
“Alright, let’s draw our first prompt card and see where the story takes us!” Luke
said, excitedly shuffling the Magnifying Glass Oracle deck.
Luke grinned. “I love it! Let’s say the Amazing Illuminaughties are the most
popular act in Castlebay.” He jotted down notes about their glimmering costumes
and choreographed routines.
After determining Skitter’s initial reaction to the spectacle, they took turns
narrating and rolling dice to see how interactions with the fireflies would unfold.
Skitter was enthralled by their glowing talents and hoped to join them. But their
leader, Glinda, was hesitant to recruit a non-firefly.
“Aw, Skitter looks so sad. We need to find a way for the Illuminaughties to see her
potential,” Zack said.
Luke drew a new card - the Queen of Clubs, representing Truth. “That gives me an
idea! What if Skitter reveals to them how much she loves their work and dreams
of dancing in the sky with them?”
They continued storytelling as Skitter poured her heart out to Glinda, eventually
winning over the troupe with her earnest passion. After much practice mimicking
78
their flash patterns, Skitter was rewarded with gossamer wings that allowed her
to perform aerial feats.
Her debut show was a dazzling success, earning roars of applause from citizens
across Castlebay.
The Sun card came next, shifting the story into a new season. Leafy greens
sprouted and creatures emerged from hibernation as Castlebay transitioned into
the Spring of Life.
“Ooh, springtime! I bet the parallax parrots are squawking up a storm about fresh
mating prospects,” Luke said with a chuckle.
“For sure! And the pastry pixies must be hard at work pollinating the pie plants
so they yield delicious fruit,” Zack added.
The Moon card brought nightfall over their sunny spring days. Under its glow, they
imagined colorful lunar moths performing mesmerizing mating dances above
Moonlit Meadow. Blix and Skitter sat nearby, gazing at the stars and discussing
hopes for the future.
“This is so cool how the cards guide our story in unexpected directions,” Zack
remarked.
Luke nodded. “Yeah, it really gets the creative juices flowing! I never know what
fun plot or character development will come next.”
The Two of Hearts came up, suggesting a partnership. The friends decided Bluud
and Sap, two daring dwarf inventors, would team up to construct Castlebay’s
first hot air balloon. After many failed flight attempts, Bluud and Sap’s improved
balloon design finally lifted off, treating them to an aerial view of their home.
As they continued through the deck, each card spawned new storylines and
characters.
79
The Seven of Clubs brought Sir Talmont, an elderly dragon-like with a knack for
solving mysteries. The Three of Spades introduced mischievous triplets - Russle,
Tumble, and Hiccup - whose pranks often irritated Castlebay residents.
The Nine of Diamonds produced the Glittering Grotto, a beachside cave with
shimmering crystal formations. Blix and Skitter encountered it while investigating
odd rumbles and decided to mine its dazzling gems for the kingdom.
Luke and Zack soon became fully immersed in the world, losing track of time
as they spun tale after colorful tale. They acted out dramatic scenes with gusto,
speaking in funny voices for distinct characters. Their storytelling instincts
melded seamlessly, each new narrative thread woven into the rich Castlebay
tapestry they’d crafted.
“Whoa, is it that late already? I think we got a bit carried away with our storytelling,”
he said with a laugh.
“Yeah, time really flew by! But this was so much fun - I felt like we were actually
living in the world we created,” Zack replied, stifling a yawn.
Luke nodded. “Me too. Castlebay feels real now, like a place full of life and
possibility.”
After hours of play, the friends finally drew the last Growth card. “Calamity time!”
Luke announced. “Let’s amp up the drama.”
Zack’s eyes widened as he realized all four cards from Castlebay’s origin - the
10♦, 7♠, 5♥ and 3♣ - had been drawn again in quick succession. According to the
game’s rules, this signaled an impending small cataclysm.
“Whoa, the deck is bringing our creation story full circle!” Zack exclaimed. “I
wonder how drawing the Big Bang cards again will impact the kingdom.”
“Me too,” said Luke, rubbing his hands together gleefully. “This opens up so many
possibilities for chaos and adventure!”
The duo first discussed how these influential icons from Castlebay’s past might
manifest in the current timeline. The Rocket could imply a cosmic event like an
asteroid strike or alien invasion.
The Torch could represent rampant wildfires. The Apple Pie could spawn dessert-
themed disasters, like raining gelatin or floods of melted ice cream.
And the Parrot felt like an omen of screaming flocks wreaking havoc.
80
After debating different options, they decided: the Rocket foretold the descent of
a mysterious glowing comet, the Torch foreshadowed volcanic eruptions across
Castlebay’s islands, the Apple Pie preceded Jubilee Jungle being overwhelmed
by ravenous cake creatures, and the Parrot signaled swarms of confused birds
crashing into villages.
“This calamity will reshape the whole kingdom!” Luke remarked. “I can’t wait to
see how our characters respond.”
Zack agreed, then drew a card to kick off the chaos - the Five of Spades, representing
upheaval. The comet’s glowing form came into view in Castlebay’s sky, leaving
citizens awestruck and uneasy. Mystic energy rippled out as it passed overhead,
sparking unusual behavior in the wildlife.
Next, an escalation of turmoil. With the comet’s magic agitating them, dragons
began torching villages across the kingdom. The dwarf inventors scrambled to
construct fireproof shelters while Skitter and Blix raced to calm the dragons.
On cue, three volcanoes - Chocolate Mount, Candy Cauldron, and Caramel Peak
- erupted as one, spewing thick flows of molten dessert. Jubilee Jungle creatures
fled in a stampede from the encroaching cake spawn.
81
“At least our characters are getting the adventures of a lifetime dealing with all
this pandemonium!”
How would Skitter organize aquatic species to survive the Sparkling Sea’s
transformation?
Could Blix reason with the comet itself during his epic space voyage to redirect
its path?
What grand feast would the dwarves concoct from the rubble of the pastry
plantations?
Their storytelling synergy soared to new heights as Luke and Zack spun epic
tales of bravery, sacrifice, and camaraderie amidst the spectacular destruction
enveloping Castlebay. No matter the scope and scale of each new disaster thrown
their way, the two friends ensured their well-developed characters reacted in
emotionally authentic ways that kept the stakes sky high.
“Looks like we will need to update Castlebay’s Survivability Score. We are playing
in Easy Difficulty, so that’s a 70 score that we need to clear. What’s the total from
the cards we’ve played this season?” Luke asked.
“We’ve played 13 cards for a total of 85, that’s more than 14 which will set
Castlebay’s current requirment for Survivability Score by +2.”
“That’s 25 add 2, it is now at 27. How is your character holding up?” Zack asked.
“Looks like it’s more than what Skitter can handle, he have to add on more
breathing filters due the bad air!”
“He’s still plenty fast though! No changes for Blix. He’s a sturdy giant and
breathing well.” Zack exclaimed, “Let’s get back into the story! Draw a card!”
Meanwhile, Blix set forth on his quest to reason with the cosmic comet as its
chaotic energy concentrated over the Scopicity.
82
Strapped to Bluud and Sap’s latest hot air balloon invention, Blix soared into the
prismatic skies towards the comet’s dazzling halo beyond the Bubble.
Zack eagerly described the sights and wonders Blix encountered on his space
odyssey. “Whoa! He just floated by a planet lookalike made entirely of blueberry
pie crust!” Zack exclaimed, as Luke chuckled. “Now he’s dodging jets of flaming
marshmallow! This is like the craziest space trip ever!”
Testing his persuasion skills, Blix made several attempts to communicate with
the powerful celestial body. But the comet seemed locked on its crash course
towards Cookie Cove, unwilling to divert its path of destruction.
After an unsuccessful negotiation filled with cosmic mishaps, Blix had no choice
but to shift strategies and prepare for battle. “How exactly is a mini giant with a
clubtail hammer going to take on a massive fiery comet in space?” Luke wondered
aloud.
The two friends pondered for a moment before their imaginations spawned a
delightfully absurd solution. Zack proposed that Blix could lasso nearby floating
islands with licorice vines and reel them in to assemble a makeshift asteroid
catapult. Luke took the idea and ran with it - describing Blix shirts rippling
dramatically as he spun the islands faster and faster, launching a bombardment
of chunky meteorites and wayward moons at the comet.
Their excitement built as they voiced Blix taunting the cosmic entity while
unleashing his rocky artillery. “Take that, fiendish comet! This Scopicity will not
bow to your chaos!” Blix bellowed in Zack’s theatrical giant voice. Luke made
whooshing noises and exploded sounds to heighten the space battle’s intensity.
After sustaining many direct hits, the comet finally careened off course, its corona
fading as its energy weakened. “Boom! Blix did it! Castlebay is saved!” Luke
cheered, as the friends high-fived. Their wild creativity had crafted an effectively
emotional tale of courage and perseverance.
Down on the ground, the scattered citizens of Castlebay slowly emerged from their
shelters as the disasters threatening their homeland began to dissipate. Steadily
fading crimson skies heralded the end of the meteorite bombardment. Gentle
steam rose as rivers of melted ice cream meandered to a stop. The trembling
of tectonic Dessert Plates subsided, and ravenous cake creatures retreated into
hibernation.
When the Seven of Hearts card was drawn, it signaled a turning point of hope and
rebirth on the horizon. Moved by Skitter and Blix’s heroic leadership throughout
the tumultuous upheaval, the diverse creatures of Castlebay united with a
common cause - to rebuild their war-torn home even greater than before.
83
“It will be large enough to evacuate every last citizen to safety as Castlebay
undergoes its renewal,” explained Bluud, holding up an unfurled blueprint of the
majestic craft.
Luke and Zack became utterly engrossed describing every detail of the phoenix’s
elaborate design and ornate decorations. From the intricate flame filigree
on the balloon to the decadent velvet-lined nests inside the passenger cabin,
their boundless creativity breathed vivid life into each facet of the flagship’s
construction.
At last, the phoenix was ready for its maiden voyage. As Blix piloted his citizens
skywards, Skitter orchestrated a symphony of sounds from thousands of birds,
beasts and beings to guide any stragglers towards the flagship.
“Caw, chirp, roar, ribbet!” Luke and Zack blurted out in unison, mimicking the
menagerie of creatures under Skitter’s command. Their joyful performance
would have convinced any passerby that the fantastical scenes from Castlebay
were real.
With Castlebay’s inhabitants evacuated, the stage was set for a final showdown.
As foretold by the cards, the climactic clash took place between Blix and the
weakened but still volatile comet. The cosmic entity concentrated its remaining
power over Cookie Cove’s volcano, threatening to reignite the biggest eruption
yet.
Luke quickly sketched a battle map showing the comet and Blix poised on opposite
sides of the volcano’s bubbling caldera. Zack grabbed some figurines from
neighboring board games to represent the foes, adding to the visual dynamics as
they narrated the iconic face-off.
Shards of glistening sugar crystals rained down as the celestial foes traded earth-
shaking blows. Blix battered the comet with hammer strikes so mighty they
reverberated through the chocolate layers below. But the comet retaliated with
cosmic laser bursts that kicked up avalanches of cake crust boulders.
After neither gained ground, Blix decided to gamble it all on one final strike
straight through the comet’s chaotic nucleus. As Luke drum-rolled intensely on
the table, Zack had Blix charge forward screaming a battle cry that resonated
with the heart of Castlebay.
Blix shattered the comet’s core on impact, releasing a wave of cascading dream
magic that restored serenity and balance across the kingdom. Luke and Zack
mimed being blown back by the rushing wind, before high-fiving proudly.
84
From the vantage of the phoenix perched atop swirling clouds, the kingdom’s denizens
gazed down in awe as their home emerged renewed from the mayhem. Lush forests
sprouted anew, lava hardened to reveal glossy obsidian, and the sparkling seas
settled in a glimmering calm.
With the disasters diffused and damages reversed by the liberated magic, Castlebay’s
citizens could now return to begin a fresh chapter. As they disembarked upon the
rejuvenated land, celebrations erupted across the realm to honor Blix and Skitter’s
courage.
Luke and Zack smiled as they voiced crowds of creatures chanting their heroes’
names. After weaving a complete saga from calamity into triumph, the two friends
finally narrated a happily ever after for Castlebay.
“Well, I think that was our most epic session yet!” Luke remarked as they cleaned up
the cards.
Zack nodded. “Totally! I can’t believe how intricate the story got. We make an awesome
creative team.”
Their wondrously woven world sat ready to unfold more tales for next time.
