PART 1

1) How often do you make telephone calls? [Why/Why not?]

I rarely make phone calls because I tend to lean more toward digital communication
platforms like email or social media. They provide a more convenient and quicker way to
exchange information, especially when dealing with multiple tasks at the same time.

2) Who do you spend most time talking to on the telephone? [Why?]

During regular school days, I frequently converse with my classmates on the phone,
particularly when we’re working on group projects. However, during festive periods, I
tend to connect more with my extended family, sharing greetings and catching up on
life’s happenings.

3) When do you think you’ll next make a telephone call? [Why?]

Honestly speaking, it’s quite unpredictable when my next telephone conversation will
happen. Life is full of surprises, and we can’t always anticipate what’s around the corner.
I might get a call from a friend out of the blue, or I might need to ring up a service
provider. So, the exact time remains a mystery.

I’ll probably make a telephone call immediately after this test. I have made it a habit to
connect with my parents daily, and they’re eagerly waiting to hear about my IELTS
experience.

4) Do you sometimes prefer to send a text message instead of telephoning? [Why/Why

not?]
Certainly, I regularly choose to text rather than phone mainly due to the potential for
misunderstandings on calls. Accents, background noise, or poor connections can distort
what’s being said whereas, with text, the message is clear and can be read multiple
times if required.

PART 2
Describe a journey [ e.g by car, plane, boat] that you remember well
You should say:
Where you went, How you travelled, Why you went on the journey and explain why you
remember this journey well.
Travelling can be an interesting experience, and we all have memories of some journey that we
made in the past that we still cherish. Here, I am going to talk about a plane journey that I
remember well.
I travelled from my hometown to Dubai on a plane. It was my first time travelling to another
country by air, and I was quite excited about it.
I still remember that it was an Emirates Airways flight, and the flight took off from the nearest
international airport in my hometown. The duration of the flight was approximately 10 hours,
and I travelled in economy class.
I went on that journey as a birthday gift from my father. He had planned a special trip for me to
Dubai to celebrate my birthday. It was an incredible surprise, and I was glad to visit such an
amazing city.
There are several reasons why I remember this journey well. Firstly, it was my first time
travelling abroad, and I was absolutely exited about it. Secondly, the plane journey itself was
quite comfortable, and I enjoyed the food and in-flight entertainment. Lastly, Dubai was an
extraordinary experience. We visited iconic landmarks like the Burj Khalifa, explored the Dubai
Mall, and even went on a desert safari. It was an unforgettable trip, filled with excitement and
new experiences, all thanks to the wonderful birthday gift from my father.

PART 3
1) Why do people need to travel every day?
People travel every day for various reasons. Firstly, many need to commute to work or
school, which often requires daily travel. Secondly, travel is necessary for running
errands such as shopping and medical appointments.
Finally, social and family obligations also prompt daily travel to maintain relationships
and participate in activities. What is more interesting, Travel allows us to escape life’s
daily demands, dramas and deadlines and enables us to clear our minds. It encourages
us to recharge our batteries and to truly disconnect

2) What problems people can have when they are on their journey, for example to work or
school? Why is this?
People can face a number of problems when travelling on a daily basis. They can get
stuck at traffics for a long period of time and become late for their schools or works.
They can also be forced to become ‘involved’ in an unfortunate accident when trying to
hurry in their private vehicles or hurrying in order to board a bus or train. Sometimes,
people may also lose something valuable because of their carelessness when travelling
on a daily basis. Besides, some people can fall asleep also and miss their destination if
they are stuck in traffics for too long.

3) Some people say that daily journeys like these will not be so common in the future. Do
you agree or disagree? Why?
I agree that daily commutes will become less common in the future. Advances in
technology, such as remote work tools, have demonstrated that many jobs can be
performed effectively from home. This shift has been accelerated by the pandemic,
which proved the feasibility of remote working for various sectors. Additionally,
concerns about environmental impact and traffic congestion are driving efforts to reduce
commuting. With improvements in transportation technology and a growing emphasis
on work-life balance, people may opt for more flexible work arrangements, further
decreasing the need for daily travel.

4) What do you think people can learn from travelling to other countries? Why?
Traveling to other countries helps people learn about different cultures and ways of life.
It makes you more open-minded and understanding of others. Dealing with new
situations can improve your problem-solving and adaptability skills. You also get a better
grasp of history and global issues through direct experience. Overall, traveling broadens
your perspective and helps you grow as a person.
