WRITING Task 1 – Process

You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.

The diagram illustrates the process that is used to manufacture bricks for
the building industry.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features


and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

I. Understand the process:


You should ask yourself:
 How many stages are there?
 Is it a man-made process or natural process?
 What is produced?
 What does each stage of the process do?
 What are the relationships between each stage?

II. Introduction:
The diagrams show a structure that is used to generate electricity from wave
power.
 The diagrams demonstrate how electricity is generated from the rise and fall
of water caused by sea waves.
 The given diagram explains the process of generating electricity by using the
power of sea waves.
The diagram shows the life cycle of the honey bee.
 The diagram illustrates the various stages in the life of a honey bee.
III. Overview:
Two sentences, usually as follow:
 How many stages are there? Where does the process start and where
does it end?
 (If there are two pictures) One sentence for each picture

Examples:
 The procedure starts with the processing of malted barley and ending
with the packaging of beer.
 It is clear that there are five stages in the production of cement, beginning
with the input of raw materials and ending with bags of the finished
product. To produce concrete, four different materials are mixed together.
