HOMEROOM GUIDANCE QUARTER 2 - MODULE 5

Let’s Try This

If my family and I joined a charity event on a remote island for three days, I would
bring these five important things:

1. Food and water to keep us nourished and hydrated.

2. A first aid kit for any emergencies or minor injuries.
3. Clothes suited for the weather to stay comfortable.
4. Basic toiletries for hygiene.
5. A flashlight with extra batteries to use at night.

Processing Questions:

What made you choose those things?

I picked these things because they are basic necessities. Food and water are
needed to survive, while first aid ensures safety. Proper clothes and toiletries
help us stay clean and comfortable, and a flashlight is important for safety in
the dark.

What would happen if you don’t bring those things?

Without these, we could get hungry or thirsty, struggle with hygiene, or face
trouble at night. We might also be unprepared for emergencies, which could
make the trip harder or unsafe.

Let’s Explore This

One of the most important decisions I’ve made was staying in a difficult school
project even when I wanted to quit. This was a big decision for me because it tested
how determined I was and helped me grow. My family encouraged me to keep going,
and I wanted to prove to myself that I could handle the challenge.

Processing Questions:

Why did you consider that decision as your most significant?

It’s significant because it made me stronger and taught me the value of hard
work. It also showed me that I can do more than I think when I push myself.

What insights have you gained from the activity?

I learned that big decisions shape who I am. They teach me lessons, even if the
process is tough. I also realized it’s okay to struggle if it means achieving
something meaningful.

What I Have Learned

a. Why should decisions always be sound?
Decisions should be sound because they can change the outcome of a situation. Good
decisions lead to better results, while careless decisions can create problems.

b. When do you know that you’re doing a sound decision?

I know my decision is sound when I’ve thought it through, considered the effects, and
feel confident that it’s the best choice for everyone involved.

A Sound Decision:
One sound decision I made was reaching out to a friend I had a fight with. It was hard
to admit my fault, but it helped fix our friendship and made me feel better.

2. Join a clean-up drive in your barangay.
3. Plant trees together with other youth in your community.
4. Help your neighbors with repairs.
5. Help kids who struggle with their homework.
6. Help any elderly cross the street or accompany them.
7. Make friends in your community regardless of their age.
8. Volunteer to do social media information for your barangay.
9. Volunteer to help set up a community event.
10. Help bring awareness and remind your neighbors of community guidelines and protocols to
avoid the spread of COVID-19.

· Join a clean-up drive in your barangay: I joined a clean-up drive to remove litter from streets and
public spaces. It was a rewarding experience as it made the area cleaner and inspired others to
maintain cleanliness.
· Plant trees together with other youth in your community: I participated in a tree-planting activity
