Various Approaches to Assessment
There are three main types of assessment used in education: 1. Assessment for Learning: Used to identify
gaps and guide instruction 2. Assessment of Learning: Measures achievement of learning goals 3. Assessment
as Learning: Develops students' ability to self-assess. Each approach serves a unique purpose in supporting
student learning. Teachers should utilize a balanced approach incorporating all three types of assessment.
