JUDICIARY EXAMINATION
1. UTTAR PRADESH: - Conducted by Public Service Commission (UPPCSJ)
Paper VI = Law III (Penal, Revenue and Local Laws), 200 Marks , 3 hours
o Indian Penal Code
o Uttar Pradesh Revenue Code, 2006
o Uttar Pradesh Urban Building (Regulation of Letting, Rent and Eviction) Act, 1972
o Uttar Pradesh Regulation of Urban Premises Tenancy Act, 2021
o Uttar Pradesh Municipalities Act,
o U.P. Panchayat Raj Act
o U.P. Consolidation of Holdings Act
o Uttar Pradesh Urban (Planning and Development) Act 1973, together with rules framed under the
aforesaid Acts.(Questions pertaining to Penal Laws will be of 50 marks, whereas, that of Revenue and
Local Laws will be of 150 marks.)
Strategy: -
Refer NCERT books for GK.
For Law thoroughly read Bare Acts, Concepts and Case Laws.
Solve last 10 years papers.
Practice time management for mains by writing down the answer on daily basis.
For translation don’t buy any expensive language books just try to learn from bilingual bare acts.
There will be no specific paper for Judgment Writing but one should give there 100% on GK.
Strategy: -
Refer Mahaveer for M.P. G.K., read JG Insights if you are student of JG or Arihant
Refer Lucent for basic Computer knowledge.
For Law thoroughly read Bare Acts, Case Laws and clarification in Concepts.
Solve last 10 years papers for pre and mains both.
Refer Khetrapal Publication or Rahul Mishra for Previous year Paper for Preliminary Examination.
Practice time management for mains by writing down the answer on daily basis.
Refer Manmohan Singh for Mains Written Examination.
For translation don’t buy any expensive language books just try to learn from bilingual Bare Acts.
For managing Exam stress level start to solve MCQ’s or answers for mains by setting stop watch.
In M.P., Judgment Writing needs lot of practice so first, one should know the whole format and
basics of how to solve Judgment Writing along with regular 1 hour Judgment Writing practice.

Strategy: -
There is a plus point that in Rajasthan State candidate do not have to worry about general knowledge.
But one should prepare for language paper thoroughly, specifically for grammar (NCERT books
recommended).
In Preliminary Examination only Bare Acts would be enough for Law.
For Essay writing consider current topics such as Government Policies, Schemes etc.
For Judgment Writing one should know the whole format and basics of how to solve Judgment
Writing along with regular 1 hour Judgment Writing practice.
First Stage: - Preliminary Examination (Objective Type), 125 questions, 500 marks (4 marks for
each right answer, 0.80 mark for each wrong answer), 2 hours
Strategy: -
In Preliminary Examination Only Bare Acts would be enough for Law.
Start making a habit to read newspaper on a daily basis for G.K.
Get in touch with latest amendments and judgments.
Candidates appearing in Haryana Judiciary should not be worried about Judgment Writing as there
is no Judgment Writing paper.
But candidate must focus on law thoroughly for mains by making notes with the help of Bare Acts,
Case Laws and Text Books.
For language candidate can refer Basic English, Hindi books for grammar.
For Essay Writing one should be aware of all the current topics.
Strategy: -
Refer Renin Martin for English as language and subject.
Thorough knowledge of Current affairs and polity.
Make reading habit for English language.
Practice previous year paper.
Second Stage: - Mains Written Examination (Subjective Type), 100 marks, 3 hours
Framing of issues and writing of judgment in civil cases 40
Framing of charges and writing of judgment in criminal cases 40
Translation from English to Hindi 10
Translation from Hindi to English 10
First Stage: - Preliminary Examination (objective type), 250 marks, 2 hours (each)
Paper I = General Knowledge, 100 marks, 2 hours
o General Knowledge including current affairs
o Elementary General Science
(Each question shall have five actions to be performed on the system each having 4 marks. Printout of
the output shall be taken and given for the evaluation.)
