Weekday Nightly Procedures (16:00 – 00:30)

18:00 (Monday – Friday) START DADS

Start DADS

Operator message will come up on IPO1

o Log onto CICSP500


o Type “D3DB” and press CNTRL
o Type “S” and press CNTRL
o Clear the screen
o Type “D4DB” and press CNTRL
o Type “S” and Press CNTRL
o Clear Screen and Type “CESF LOG OFF”
o Reply to operator message on IPO1 “##c” or SDSF command “/##c”

21:00 (Monday – Friday) – IPO2 Refresh Process

CICS Regions Shutdown Procedure

Shut down CICS Regions

Important- CICS Regions Must Be Brought Down BEFORE IDMS!

o From the MVS Master console type “s cicsshut” or from SDSF “/s cicsshut”

o Make sure all 15 regions are down before proceeding to the next step- could take
about 5 minutes

o To confirm CICS regions are down, from SDSF type “pre cics*;da”
Shut down IDMS Regions

o In SDSF type “sr” to go to message screen and reply to all IDMS region messages
o “/##,shutdown” after that message is replied to the regions will come up with another
message
o IDMSTEST “/##.03”,
o IDMSPREV “/##,04”
o IDMSPRDC “/##,16”
Below is an example of what it looks like:

o To confirm IDMS regions are down, from SDSF type “pre IDMS*;da”

IPO2 cont.

Once CICS and IDMS Regions are confirmed being down

o Release TRG21IP2 in CA7


o NOTE: ON FRIDAY THE WEEKLY SPLITS WILL ALSO RUN WITH THIS
o TRG21IP2 will display 3 messages which need to be replied to in SDSF type “/##c” to each
o After all messages are replied to IDJD0001 will run and bring up the IDMS regions again
o IDMSTEST
o IDMSPREV
o IDMSPRDC

o Once IDMSTEST and IDMSPREV are up, release CICST100 in CA7


o CICS regions will start coming up as well (IPO2)
o Check for CICSD500 and when running (IPO2), go to the left and type “s” to select
 Type “f given” at the top and when CICSD500 has been given control and
IDMSPRDC is running- Release CICST1CN in CA7

Confirm that all 16 CICS Regions are running again (about 10 minutes) to complete the refresh process

22:00 Check Print Dates

o Reply to message on IPO1 “##c” or SR in SDSF “/##c”


o In SDSF type “
o ” and press CNTRL
o Type “M” and hit F8, then F7 to scroll up one page
o This will show the current dates
o Check all the dates including the weekend dates
o If dates are not current open an INC and contact Production Change Control

00:00 (MONDAY – FRIDAY) - IPO1 Nightly Refresh Process

Before Starting the IPO1 Refresh Make Sure Only 8*** and 9*** Jobs Are Running

Have in place Maker/Checker process whenever possible

CICS Regions Shutdown Procedure

o Shut down CICS regions on IPO1


o IMPORTANT- CICS MUST BE BROUGHT DOWN BEFORE IDMS!
o From the MVS Master Console type “s shutcics” or in SDSF type “/s shutcics”

o This will bring down the CICS regions:


o CICSP500
o CICSP400
o CICSP300
o CICSP100
o In SDSF type “pre cics*;da”- This will display the CICS regions that are running

Confirm ALL CICS REGIONS ARE DOWN BEFORE CONTINUING!

DB2 Shutdown Procedure


o After CICS Regions are down, proceed to shut down DB2 regions by typing from SDSF “/s
db2down”
o This will bring down the DSN regions- Look for WTOR on IPO1
o From SDSF type “sr” to display the system request message. Reply “/##C”
(Note “##” is the reply number given in IPO1 at the time of shutdown)
o DSN1MSTR
o DSN1DBM1
o DSN1DIST
o DSN1SPAS

o Confirm all DSN regions are down by typing “pre dsn*;da” – DSN1DC will remain up (see note
below)
o UPDATE:

o DB2 Note:
o Robert Bruce:
o Please keep in mind when verifying if DB2 is down for the nightly
splits, that we have a new process running, DSN1DC. This
process is for the new SYSView for DB2 product, so please ignore
it. The other four are parts of the normal DB2 processes. If you
have any questions, please let me know.

CONFIRM ALL PREVIOUS STEPS ARE COMPLETED BEFORE CONTINUING!

IDMSPROD Shutdown Procedure

o From SDSF type “sr”. This will display the system request message to shut down IDMSPROD
Below is an example of what it looks like:

o In SDSF type “/##,shutdown” then a second message will come up


o In SDSF type “/##,01” to confirm the shutdown of IDMSPROD
o After the command is entered, continue to monitor the console for IDJi0103 jobs and once
they have successfully ended type in SDSF “pre IDMS*;da” to confirm IDMSPROD is no longer
displayed

Confirmation Checks

o Make Sure Only 8*** and 9*** Jobs Are Running


o CHECK THAT ALL PREVIOUS STEPS ARE CONFIRMED COMPLETED BEFORE RUNNING BUDSTART

BUDSTART PROCESS

o Release BUDSTART in CA7 and from SDSF type “pre bud*;o”


o Look for the completion of:
o BUDSNPCR
o BUDSNPLK
o BUDSPQRB
o Place an “S” in front of each job and press “CNTRL” to display their output. Press F3 to scroll
through each output.
o Once verified, Canada Initiators can be restarted, and the next steps can be complete

o Look for WTOR on IPO2 before continuing


o Log onto IPO2 and type “sr” to show reply to release BUDTAPON
o In SDSF type “##C”
o and release VERIFYFL in CA7
o Once VERIFYFL completes- Release ISJD0047 in CA7. This will start IDMSPROD and
CICSP0IT on IPO1 and also starts the nightly production jobs triggering IDMSNJTD

Send Shift Handoff that IDMSPROD and CICSP0IT are running to complete turnover
