SHUT DOWN (IPL) PROCEDURE – ZOSA Image

1. Log on to HMC or Support Element


2. In view panel – click on groups – in CPC images work area – select your LPAR
3. In daily panel - click operating system messages and Issue the following commands one by one
4. P TCPIP
5. C CICS1
6. –STOP DB2
7. P TSO
8. Z NET - stops VTAM
9. F BPXOINIT,SHUTDOWN=FORKINIT - STOPS USS (UNIX SYSTEM SERVICES)
10. C LLA
11. C VLF
12. F DLF,MODE=DRAIN
13. P DLF
14. P RMF
15. P FFST -- (FIRST FAILURE SUPPORT TECHNOLOGY)
16. %STOP --(STOPS RACF)
17. C SYSLOGD1
18. Make sure all sub-systems and services are completely down. Then finally bring down JES2.
19. $P INIT
20. $P JES2,TERM
21. Z EOD – To stop the current SMF MANx dataset recording and switch to next SMF MAN dataset.
22. Completes Log and LOGREC dataset recordings
23. Then show z EOD successful
24. Double Click on Groups CPC Images. Select your LPAR -
25. Single Click on the image to be deactivated, then through Daily panel, click Deactivate -Wait till the
process is finished and click OK when it is done.

To shut down the server


1. After deactivating image - Deactivate the processor
2. Now press the shutdown option in the HMC panel under Console Actions – Shuts down HMC
application
3. Shutdown both support elements
4. Shutdown DS6000 storage server
5. Shutdown Tape server
6. Finally PULLDOWN the RED BUTTON

STARTUP PROCEDURE for Image A

 At first switch on the DASD and wait for few minutes


 Then switch on the TAPE drive
 PULL the RED BUTTON UP on your MF server
 Connect to support element
 Double click on groups defined CPC in HMC, and then choose the Processor and Activate.
 Confirm password and wait till the process is over. Click OK, when success message displayed

 Log on to Support element with privileged user account
 Double click on groups in VIEW panel then click on CPC Images - Select image (the LPAR to
be initialized) and Activate it with daily panel.
 Click OK, when success message displayed.
 Select image your LPAR - Double click on load button in recovery panel - Wait till the process
is finished.
 LOAD ADDRESS: D410
 LOAD PARAMETER: D41309

 Wait for Image (your LPAR) to blink in cyan color then select operating system messages
which also blinks with cyan color.
 Type 00,cont
 Type 00,cont in operating system messages – wait to get MVS commands available message
 Then issue VARY CN (*), ACTIVATE --activates all consoles
 Then type VARY 200, CONSOLE in operating system messages --marks 200 as master
console
 Once console is ready close operating system messages panel and 3270 emulator main panel
only. Now you can proceed IPL process with HMC
 OR alternately you can continue all the IPL process from your support element itself.
 Type D R,L - Then to start JES reply to WTOR with the message id 02 as follows:
 02, WARM, NOREQ - this is to start JES2 then issue the following commands one by one.
 S VTAM
 S TSO
 –START DB2
 S CICS1
 Now check all subsystems are up and running then INITIATORS:
start Initiators and assign classes to it
$T I (01-05), C=AMDPH

$T I (06-10), C=DAMPH
AFTER IPL
 Start initiators using $S I(1-25) command $T I (11-15), C=PHAMD
 Change the Initiators class according to your $T I (16-20), C=HPAMD
requirement
$T I (21-25), C=BYEQTZ

 Log on to CICS1 region - Install CICS resources.


 CEDA DISPLAY GROUP (*) – Now install the groups up to trainers.
 Now type CEMT I DB2CONN command – on that screen connects (Not connected) – change
to connected
 In DB2id (DSNZ) type the ENTER.
