Introduction
Superbox (also known as Offload Calculaon Server) enables the automac offloading of toolpath
calculaon tasks from all Cimatron seats in a network, freeing up the resources of individual
workstaons. The toolpath calculaons may also be accelerated, depending on the individual
workstaon’s hardware.
A toolpath is a sequence of one or more machining procedures performed in a given set of milling
axes. A toolpath may consist of 2, 2.5, 3, 4, or 5 axis procedures.
Calculaon tasks are offloaded to the computer where SuperBox is installed, allowing programmers
to perform other tasks on their individual computers without any delays.
SuperBox cannot be installed on a computer where Cimatron is installed, and vice versa.
The SuperBox Manager is an interface to connect your computer to one or more SuperBox servers.
You may use the SuperBox Manager either as a user or as an administrator, depending on your
permissions.

The SuperBox Manager dialog is displayed below showing the SuperBox server in operaon. In this
example, NB-VIB-W7 is the local computer where Cimatron is installed and SB-AF31 is the name of
the SuperBox server.

Addional Requirements
20 GB Free Hard Drive Space – Important for the Machine Swap File
1 To gain beter I/O performance, it is recommended using a solid state hard drive (SSD). Windows and
Cimatron should be installed on the SSD. The file management should be configured on a different
hard drive, local or network based.
2 Quadro cards from Nvidia and FirePro, and Radeon Pro cards from AMD, are the most recommended
cards for CAD/CAM soware.
The performance of graphics cards is closely related to driver version and memory size. The newer the
driver and the greater the memory, the beter the graphics card’s performance.
The graphics card must support OpenGL 3.3. For recommended graphics cards, see the following
website: htps://cimgraphics.cimatron.com/.
3 The SuperBox seat is only used for CPU-based calculaons; therefore, the GPU is not relevant.

Power options
As the SuperBox server must be connually powered up and running (the server cannot meout and
go to sleep), the Power Opons must be set during the installaon to:
The Power Opons (under the system Control Panel) are a collecon of hardware and system sengs
that manage how the computer uses power.
