Objectives: In this experiment we will observe the behaviour of transformers and calculate
the energy efficiency of our circuit

Data and
Explanation:
For the formulas we have the power formula for electric potentil from the varieing flux which
is the alternating current we use in this experiment. Then we derive our transformator formula
from the comparison with the voltages of the primary and the secondary transformers
∆ф
𝑉1 = − 𝑁1
∆𝑡
∆ф
𝑉2 = − 𝑁2
∆𝑡
Where V is the voltage of the respective transformer
N is the number of turns the coil has for the respective transformer
∆ф
𝑖𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑓𝑙𝑢𝑥 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑦𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑚
∆𝑡
From these values we get the comparison
𝑉1 𝑁2 = 𝑉2 𝑁1
Now for the calculation of the power for the transformer which indicates the constant state of
the power through out the transformer
𝑃1 = 𝑃2 = 𝐼1 𝑉1 = 𝐼2𝑉2

And here we have the ratio for the power efficiency

𝑃2
𝜂 =
𝑃1

 For the first part of the experiment we will observe the transformer in three different
modes and plot a graph with changing volatge values
For the data we have

And we for the graph we have

 In the second part of the experiment we will measure the voltage and the current
values for the both parts of the transformer and the seconder transformer will be
connected to a 10ohm resistance. From these measurements we will calculate the
power for the both of the sides of the transformer and take the ratios of the power
then plot a ratio versus power of the secondary transformer
The graph indicates a very litte increase of in the ratio of powers as P2 increases which may be
caused from the resistance as it has aged and wouldnt absorb the voltage as it should
Outcome: We have observed the way transformers work and the way energy is conserved
for it during our experimental procedure.1) A variac is a variable AC
transformer that adjusts output voltage by sliding a movable brush along a
single toroidal winding connected to an AC input. The input voltage is applied
across the entire winding, and the brush taps into different points to "pick up"
varying portions of the voltage. Moving the brush closer to the start provides
lower voltage, while moving it toward the end increases the output, often up to
or slightly beyond the input voltage. This design allows for smooth, precise
voltage control, making variacs useful in testing, motor control, and other
applications.2)would be very small since primary will get a little current even
when secondary will have none. 3)resistance of the wires,magnetic
leakage,eddy currents, insulating material of the wires, temperature of the
system 4)it will measure the current of that part. 5)ideally taken infinite, it has
very high resistance 6)resistance of the voltmeter which is in megaohms we can
cause a short circuit with this too.
